Example embodiments relate to optical plates with integrated connections. One example lighting unit includes a substrate. The lighting unit also includes one or more light sources provided to a top surface of the substrate. Additionally, the lighting unit includes at least one electrical contact provided to the top surface of the substrate. Further, the lighting unit includes an optical plate having an inner surface and an outer surface. The optical plate includes one or more optical elements. The one or more optical elements are configured for cooperating with the one or more light sources. The inner surface of the optical plate faces the top surface of the substrate. The optical plate further includes at least one electrical connecting element. The at least one electrical connecting element is configured for being connected electrically to the at least one electrical contact, and for providing electrical connection through the optical plate.

Example embodiments relate to luminaire assemblies with reduced light pollution. One embodiment includes a luminaire assembly that includes a light source. The luminaire assembly also includes a support for carrying the light source. Additionally, the luminaire assembly includes a protector for protecting the light source from external environmental influences. The protector has an open top for accommodating the support, a bottom facing the light source, and a peripheral wall between the open top and the bottom. The peripheral wall includes a transparent or translucent portion. The light source is configured to send light in use through the portion of the peripheral wall. The protector is provided with a light absorbing surface arranged inside of the protector and facing the light source. The light absorbing surface is configured such that in use part of the light emitted from the light source is absorbed by the light absorbing surface.

Luminaire assembly with reduced light pollution

Example embodiments relate to methods for assembling optical modules of a luminaire and optical assembly. One example method includes providing a frame with at least one opening. The method also includes providing a plurality of optical modules to the frame, each optical module of the plurality of optical modules being provided to an opening of the at least one opening. Additionally, the method includes providing a support means to each of the plurality of optical modules and/or to each of the at least one opening. Further, the method includes assembling the plurality of optical modules to the frame by plastically reshaping a material portion in contact with the frame and the optical module. When the optical module is assembled to the frame, a first bottom surface of the optical module is substantially at a same level as a second bottom surface of the frame.

Example embodiments relate to light emitting devices with adaptable glare classes. One example light emitting device includes a carrier. The light emitting device also includes a plurality of light sources disposed on the carrier. Additionally, the light emitting device includes a plurality of lenses disposed on the carrier and covering the plurality of light sources. Each lens of the plurality of lenses includes a lens portion and a base portion surrounding said lens portion. Further, the light emitting device includes a light shielding structure including a plurality of reflective barriers, each having an outer surface and a first reflective inner surface. The outer surface is oriented such that a portion of the light rays emitted by a first light source of the plurality of light sources is transmitted through a first lens of the plurality of lenses and through a first portion of the outer surface.

Light emitting device with adaptable glare class

Example embodiments relate to light emitter devices with adaptable glare classes. One example light emitting device includes a carrier. The light emitting device also includes a plurality of light sources disposed on the carrier. Additionally, the light emitting device includes a lens plate disposed on the carrier. The lens plate includes a flat portion and a plurality of lenses covering the plurality of light sources. Further, the light emitting device includes a light shielding structure mounted on said lens plate. The light shielding structure includes a plurality of closed reflective barrier walls, each having an interior bottom edge disposed on the flat portion, an interior top edge at a height above the flat portion, and a reflective surface connecting the interior bottom edge and the interior top edge and surrounding one or more associated lenses of the plurality of lenses. The height is at least 2 mm.

Example embodiments relate to light emitting devices with adaptable glare classes. One embodiment includes a light emitting device. The light emitting device includes a carrier. The light emitting device also includes a plurality of light sources disposed on the carrier. Additionally, the light emitting device includes a plurality of lenses disposed on the carrier and covering the plurality of light sources. Each lens of the plurality of lenses includes a lens portion and a base portion surrounding the lens portion. Further, the light emitting device includes a light shielding structure that includes a plurality of reflective barriers. Each reflective barrier has an outer surface and a first reflective inner surface. A light transmitting material extends between the outer surface and the first reflective inner surface.

Example embodiments relate to luminaire systems with improved fastening means. One example luminaire system includes a first support provided with a recess. The luminaire system also includes a plurality of light sources arranged on said first support. In addition, the luminaire system includes a second support arranged opposite said first support. Further, the luminaire system includes one or more optical elements provided to said second support, and associated with the plurality of light sources. Additionally, the luminaire system includes a fastening element that includes a head portion and a rod portion. The second support is provided with a through-hole for receiving said head portion. Said rod portion extends through said through-hole and said recess in order to be fixed in the first support and/or in a portion of the luminaire system. The second support is provided with a protruding portion.

Example embodiments relate to luminaire systems with leveraged displacements. One embodiment includes a luminaire system. The luminaire system includes a first support. The luminaire system also includes a second support movable with respect to the first support. Additionally, the luminaire system includes a moving means configured for moving the second support relative to the first support. The moving means includes a lever mounted in a rotatable manner around a rotation axis. The moving means is configured to convert a rotation of the lever around said rotation axis into a movement of the second support relative to the first support. A plurality of light sources is arranged on one of the first support and the second support and is configured to emit light through one or more optical elements associated with the plurality of light sources and arranged on the other one of the first support and the second support.

Example embodiments relate to luminaire systems with converted movements. The luminaire system includes a first support. The luminaire system also includes a second support movable with respect to the first support. Additionally, the luminaire system includes a moving means configured for moving the second support relative to the first support in a movement plane substantially parallel to the first support. The moving means includes a rotatable element provided to one of the first support or second support and configured for rotating around a rotation axis perpendicular to the movement plane. The rotatable element includes a first conversion portion cooperating with a second conversion portion. The first and second conversion portion are configured for converting a rotational movement of the rotatable element into a movement of the second support with respect to the first support in said movement plane.

The first reflective sloping surface is configured for reflecting light rays emitted through one or more associated first lenses of the plurality of lenses.
