Embodiments of the present invention relate to a structure and method for providing better antenna element retention in the any environment. The structure may comprise at least two card guides attached to a base. Each card guide may have at least one antenna slot, and individual antenna elements may be guided into position by an antenna slot of two different card guides. The individual antenna elements may have their freedom of motion restricted in the direction of their insertion by caps attached to the card guides. The individual antenna elements may have their freedom of motion restricted in a direction transverse to their direction of insertion by retention members attached to the card guides. By allowing for the 'top-down' assembly of individual antenna elements in a modular fashion, embodiments of the present invention may facilitate easier repair of antenna element arrays, than prior art array assemblies.

2D-coil collision sensor system

A system and method for performing side impact sensing in a vehicle including at least one side impact zone is provided. The system comprises a controller and at least one crash signature sensor. The controller is configured to deploy one or more safety restraints in response to at least one crash signature signal. The one crash signature sensor is positioned in the side impact zone. The crash signature sensor is configured to detect an impact with an object at the side impact zone. The crash signature sensor is further configured to generate the crash signature signal which corresponds to measured structural impact energy of the vehicle in the side impact zone deformed by the impact at frequencies above 2 kHz.

System and method for integration of crash signature sensor in vehicle side impact sensing

A method and apparatus for assembling a plurality of independently formed solid components is provided thereby forming a single delivery vehicle for a pharmaceutical or pharmaceutical-like product. The solid components can be held and fed to the apparatus via a plurality of magazines. Pusher rods and the like can be used for positioning each of the solid components. Where the components are connected via a bonding liquid, a sprayer is provided and compression pins or the like press the components with the bonding liquid together to form the final product. A rivet or other connection structure can also be used and driven through holes in each of the solid components to form the final product.

Machine and method for pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical-like product assembly

A method of inflating an airbag with a fluid includes sending a signal to open a first valve and opening the first valve. The method also includes directing a control pressure through the first valve and toward a second valve. The method further includes throttling the second valve in response to the control pressure. The throttling of the second valve produces a variable inflation mass flow rate of the fluid at a second valve outlet. Opening the first valve and closing the first valve are performed as a step function to achieve a desired predetermined variable inflation mass flow rate of the airbag.

An airbag deactivation system for the airbags mounted in a motor vehicle. The system provides a switch and circuitry to allow for selective deactivation of driver and/or passenger airbags in a motor vehicle via a conventional ignition key inserted into a key cylinder. The switch includes interchangeable key cylinders to allow for limited selective deactivation and a key stop to limit the amount of insertion of the ignition key into the key cylinder. LED's emit light from the deactivation module when indicating a deactivation condition, which is viewable by both a driver and a front seat passenger. Alternatively, LED's are mounted in a remote indicator assembly, separate from the deactivation module, to provide improved visual indication to the driver and front seat passenger of the state of airbag deactivation.

An anti-theft system for a removable accessory has a transponder with a transponder security code located in the removable accessory. A remote sensing coil is operatively coupled to the transponder. A memory stores a security code corresponding to the transponder. A control module coupled to the remote sensing coil and the memory generates an interrogate signal and receives a response signal through the remote sensing coil. The transponder generating a response signal in the form of a transponder security code in response to the interrogate signal. The control module compares the transponder security code to the stored security code. If the transponder security code is not equal to the stored security code, a predetermined function is disabled. An output means is coupled to the control module for providing an indication to a vehicle operator of the disabled predetermined function.

Anti-theft sysem for a removable accessory of an automotve vehicle

Vehicles normally equipped with safety airbags in the steering wheel and dashboard can be modified by deleting the airbags. A method for ensuring that the modifications are properly made, involves the use of an indicator light on the vehicle instrument panel and an electrical circuit that turns the indicator light off when the airbag deletion hardware is properly installed. The electric circuit includes light energizer circuits in the steering wheel and dashboard, and a shorting bar in each energizer circuit.

A control circuit (46) for an air bag disabling system (16,22) includes a resistive test load (66) arranged in parallel with the resistive elements of the air bag (48) and in some embodiments includes a fuse (64) in series with the resistive test load (66), the resistive test load providing for the operation of the vehicle air bag system independent of the disabling effected by the disabling system and the fuse providing indication of operation of the air bag disabling system.
