A steering shaft for a motor vehicle includes a hollow outer shaft with a longitudinal axis. An inner shaft is arranged coaxially within the outer shaft. The inner shaft telescopes longitudinally relative to the outer shaft and is connected in a torque-transmitting manner to the outer shaft via a rolling body. The rolling body can roll in the direction of the longitudinal axis and the rolling body bearing in a positively locking manner in the circumferential direction about the longitudinal axis between rolling body raceways on the inner and outer shaft. The steering shaft includes a securing element with a supporting body arranged between supporting faces configured on the inner shaft and on the outer shaft, which at least one supporting body can be supported in a positively locking manner in the circumferential direction. The supporting body is spaced apart in the circumferential direction from the supporting faces.

A method for producing a length-adjustable steering shaft having a hollow shaft in which a toothed shaft is received so as to be axially telescopic. The toothed shaft has a toothing with teeth on an external circumference that extend in the axial direction and which engages in a form-fitting manner in an inner toothing of the hollow shaft. A sliding layer of thermoplastic plastics material is at least in portions attached between the inner toothing and the toothing. One method for running in a worm gear of an electromechanical steering system may comprise preparing the electromechanical servo steering system in a preassembled state in which one end of a worm shaft close to a motor or an end remote from the motor is mounted rotatably in a bearing in the gear housing and the respective other end of the worm shaft is movable in a radial direction so as to form a free end; rotatably mounting the free end of the worm shaft in an adjustable pretensioning device that is configured to pretension the worm shaft in a direction of the worm wheel in the engagement; adjusting the pretensioning device by way of a control device for generating a defined pretensioning of the engagement; and driving the worm shaft as a function of the control device at a defined rotational speed for a determined period of time.

A clamping device for an adjustable steering column for a motor vehicle comprises a clamping bolt which is rotatable about its longitudinal axis for the opening and closing of the clamping device by means of an actuation lever, through an opening of which the clamping bolt extends. In the region of the opening of the actuation lever there is situated a connecting section of the clamping bolt, over the axial extent of which connecting section the clamping bolt is connected to the actuation lever by way of a press fit. The outer wall of the clamping bolt has, in the connecting section of the clamping bolt, at least two pressing regions which are spaced apart in the circumferential direction about the longitudinal axis and by way of which the actuation lever is pressed against the outer wall.

Steering column for a motor vehicle

Steering pinions and methods for producing the same are described. The steering pinion has a toothed section for meshing with a gear rack and a connection section for connecting to a steering shaft. The toothed section includes a toothed part and the connection section includes a connection part. The toothed part and the connection part are pressed together in a rotationally fixed manner.
