A process allows the extraction of heavy hydrocarbon compounds from solid substrates in an economical and efficient fashion. Materials containing heavy hydrocarbons (i.e. oil sands or roofing shingles) are broken up into an auger and then mixed with light hydrocarbons. Subsequently, the resulting slurry is shaken to separate fluids from solids, and the fluids are subjected to one or more filtering processes to remove waste sediment. These filtering processes may include a series of one or more of centrifuges and nozzle purifier machines. Filtered fluids are distilled to separate heavy hydrocarbons from light hydrocarbons. Simultaneously, the solids are heated to remove the remaining light hydrocarbons as vapors. Light hydrocarbons are cooled in a condenser and coalesced in a holding tank, wherefrom they may be recirculated into the process and used repeatedly. The now-isolated heavy hydrocarbons resulting from the distillation process may be removed as a purified product.

Process for extracting crude oil from substrates

Computer implemented techniques for classifying mental states of individuals are described. The techniques determine sets of words that are associated with multiple groups having different mental status, and a classification model is used to classify one group against another group. Furthermore, by determining points of intersection of words between a first group and second group, words that are statistically predictive terms and that are unique to each group, to provide further predictive features for differentiating the multiple cohorts.

Text based prediction of psychological cohorts

The present invention relates to an apparatus for converting a free weight into a kettlebell weight. The apparatus includes a main body housing, a rotatable handle, and a pivot grip. The apparatus may move from an open position for receiving a free weight to a closed position for locking a free weight into place.

Kettlebell converter

The valve assembly allowing users to efficiently drain large containers, such as tanks, barrels, drums, and pipes which are used to hold fluids. This device features a draining pipe with an attached dispensing valve, which can be installed into a hole that is drilled into the desired container. After installation, consumers may simply turn the dispensing valve to release desired amounts of liquid. Using this product may eliminate the need for using pumps, or for welding or cutting tees into pipes, in order to effectively drain large containers. The device may be for use in residential homes, farms, and industrial establishments.

A nasal cannula that combines extremely flexible tubing and a novel vee-shaped nosepiece that fits the contour of the face and provides a stable footing and is self-righting because more than half its weight is below the tubing attachment points. Gas delivery prongs are molded at an angle relative to the body to direct gas into the center of the nostrils. The tubing is made from ultra-high molecular weight PVC resin with hardness between 40 and 75 Shore A.

Deployable automatic foaming fire protection system

The disclosed device is directed toward an apparatus for forming dump beds. The apparatus comprises a support structure having a base configured to support at least one side. A first side is coupled to the base. A second side is coupled to the base. A header is mounted to the first side and the second side. The header is configured to support a forming press. A first roller is coupled to the base. The first roller includes a first adjustable mount and a first press operatively coupled to the first adjustable mount. A second roller is coupled to the base opposite the first roller. The second roller includes a second adjustable mount and a second press operatively coupled to the second adjustable mount. A forming press is mounted in the header. The forming press includes at least one die coupled to the forming press. The forming press is configured to press a material between the first roller and the second roller to form a portion of a dump bed.

Dump truck bed forming apparatus

Heat is removed from an equipment enclosure using a recirculating air flow loop that is confined entirely within the enclosure. A segment of the air flow loop is directed onto heat-generating components, contained within housings mounted inside the enclosure. A segment of the air flow loop carries heated air to a heat exchanger, which transfers heat to flowing liquid. A portion of the air flow loop traverses through the ductless air volume confined between the housings and inner walls of the enclosure. Blowers to drive the air flow are typically mounted within or on a housing. Heat exchangers are also typically mounted on a housing. Embodiments of the present invention enable a single heat exchanger or multiple heat exchangers to cool multiple electronic components without complicated ducting and without exhausting heated air into a controlled manufacturing environment, e.g. a clean room.

The disclosed device is directed toward a delivery system comprising a source of pressurized fluid. A discharger is coupled to the source of pressurized fluid. A barrel is coupled to the discharger. A loading mechanism is coupled to the barrel, wherein the loading mechanism includes a chamber disposed in the barrel and a loader is coupled to the chamber and a reloader is coupled to the loader. An elevator is coupled to the barrel. A direction swivel is couple to the source of pressurized fluid.

Pneumatic delivery system for projectiles

Disclosed are techniques and apparatus for flexibly mounting a mechanism. The embodiments describe a flexible mount that is at once tolerant of misalignment, shock resistant, insensitive to rotational orientation, compact, and failure resistant. A mechanism is rigidly attached to a retainer that interlocks with a stationary housing and confines and compresses annular resilient members. The methods may in particular apply to the mounting of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders for actuation of a shutter assembly in an optical system. In addition the techniques can apply to the flexible mounting of other mechanisms incorporating movable members having axes of symmetry, including push rods and rotating shafts.

Flexible mount for a mechanism

The present invention provides a reliable modular production quality excimer laser capable of producing 10 mJ laser pulses at 2000 Hz with a full width half, maximum bandwidth of about 0.6 pm or less. Replaceable modules include a laser chamber; a pulse power system comprised of three modules; an optical resonator comprised of a line narrowing module and an output coupler module; a wavemeter module, an electrical control module, a cooling water module and a gas control module. Improvements in the laser chamber permitting the higher pulse rates and improved bandwidth performance include a single upstream preionizer tube and a high efficiency chamber. The chamber is designed for operation at lower fluorine concentration. Important improvements have been provided in the pulse power unit to produce faster rise time and improved pulse energy control. These improvements include an increased capacity high voltage power supply with a voltage bleed-down circuit for precise voltage trimming, an improved commutation module that generates a high voltage pulse from the capacitors charged by the high voltage power supply and amplifies the pulse voltage 23 times with a very fast voltage transformer having a secondary winding consisting of a single four-segment stainless steel rod. A novel design for the compression head saturable inductor greatly reduces the quantity of transformer oil required and virtually eliminates the possibility of oil leakage which in the past has posed a hazard.

Reliable modular production quality narrow-band high REP rate excimer

A flexible seal permits slidable access to equipment components in an essentially zero clearance environment, without time-consuming disassembly and reassembly. A flexible seal ring includes a thickened radiused boss connected to the outer rim of a flexible flange, connected to a mounting block by an inner hub. The seal ring can be formed as a unitary structure from metal, plastic, elastomer, wood, foam, composite, or combinations thereof. Usually the seal ring has rotational symmetry. Alternatively, the seal ring has an elongated or irregular configuration, e.g. for sealing around a slot. The seal ring can contain an outer o-ring groove. The seal ring is attached to a first plate. A second plate slides laterally to align with the first plate, contacting the flexible seal surface. This presses the seal surface against the second plate, sealing the interface.

Flexible seal for a laser system

A gas discharge laser with fast response gas temperature control to maintain laser gas temperature within desired limits during burst mode operation. Preferred embodiments include a passive temperature stabilizer having fins with surface areas exposed to flowing laser gas at least equal to the surface area of the cooling fins of a laser gas heat exchanger. Preferred embodiments utilize heating elements and coolant flow control to regulate laser gas temperatures using processors programmed to anticipate idle periods.
