The invention presents a covered cavity kiln pyrolyzer with modulated means of rotation, to promote mixing and exposure of the biomass to heat, thereby allowing complete and efficient pyrolysis of biomass therein. The invention has a portal arrangement for simultaneous entry of fuel and air alongside the exit of emissions and flames to a separate hood structure. In addition to rotational modulation for mixing, the rotational capabilities of the kiln also permit the removal of processed charcoal when the portal is turned downward. The invention also has a system of internal prongs for mixing and sifting removal of char, as well as automated fuel delivery mechanisms and a system of openings to allow insertion of pipes and sensors into the kiln for monitoring and for additional delivery of reagents for better modulation and efficiency by a user during the pyrolyzation process.

Covered cavity kiln pyrolyzer

A drive system with multiple hydraulic cylinders applying torque to the drive shaft of a machine. Each cylinder is attached at one end to the frame of the machine by a clevis that pivots and the other end is rotationally connected to a shaft fixed to a crank arm, fixed to the drive shaft. Each cylinder either pushes or pulls-the crank arm shaft producing torque on the drive shaft in the form of a moment about centerline. As the drive shaft rotates, each cylinder alternately pushes and pulls on the crank arm shaft, depending on the rotational position of the crank arm with respect to the cylinders. The direction of force applied by each hydraulic cylinder is determined by an electro/hydraulic direction control valve, driven by a programmable logic controller, using a signal from a sensor to detect the rotational position of the drive shaft.

Hydraulic cylinder drive system

A system for enhanced operation of a camera that utilizes an adjustable focusing eyepiece assembly that removeably attaches to a small section of the touch sensitive display face of a mobile device such s a smartphone, or mp3 player so as to eliminate all outside light. The small area encapsulated by the eyepiece assembly surrounds a miniaturized camera viewfinder image and the associated control icons that indicate the operation status of the camera as controlled by the operator's finger manipulation on the touch screen through the specialized, associated mobile device software application. The mobile device's camera may be operated much more accurately with this system.

Smartphone user interface viewfinder system

A regenerative braking system for a vehicle, motorized or otherwise, that captures and stores the braking energy of the vehicle through the mechanical compression of a volume of pressurized gas contained in one or more onboard gas springs. This stored energy can be selectively released by the driver to assist with the acceleration of the vehicle from a stopped or moving condition. The compression of the volume of gas is accomplished by the insertion of a plunger into the cylinder of a gas spring by a mechanical spooling cable arrangement powered by the rotative braking of the vehicle. The release of the stored energy is accomplished by the withdrawal of the piston which acts through the spooling cable arrangement to transmit torque to the vehicle's drive train. The system can be implemented in various motorized or non-motorized vehicles.

Vehicular regenerative braking system

A machine for slicing a food product in the three dimensions in a single continuous cycle to produce an end product having a determined size and shape. The machine incorporates a first slicing station for slicing a determined length of a first slice off the food product by a first cutoff knife and a second slicing station to slice the first slice in two dimensions by a set of gang knives and a second cut off knife to produce a cube of a determined size and shape. The machine has a conveyor system for conveying the food product on a continuous basis through the machine. The rotation of the cut off knives are variable to establish the desired dimensions of the end product. The first slice is transferred on the conveyor of the second slicing station in a manner to accommodate slicing the first slice in the other two dimensions by the second slicing station.

Three dimensional automatic food slicer

A conveyor belt including displacement apparatus for laterally displacing pieces of a product across the width of the moving conveyor belt. The apparatus may include a rotatable paddle wheel with radially extending fins or roller sets that are engageable with the underside of the belt. The paddle wheel is rotated to rapidly elevate the belt upwardly and downwardly to project the pieces off the belt in a trajectory that will displace the pieces laterally relative to the direction of travel of the belt. In a preferred embodiment, the fins or roller sets are tapered such that the center of the belt has the greatest upward (and downward) movement and the belt near its side edges has the least movement.

Conveyor belt

A multi-lane extended product transfer filling machine for filling multiple lanes of containers simultaneously. The machine fills pockets with a sized portion at a product sizing station. The pockets are mounted to a chain which transfers the filled pockets from the product sizing station to a remote container filling station. Multiple tampers eject the food product from multiple filled pockets into multiple lanes of containers simultaneously. A programmable operating control unit controls the operation of the machine.

Multi-lane extended product transfer filling machine

A three dimensional slicing/dicing machine that slices a food product such as a loaf of sausage into similarly sized but irregularly shaped cube like portions. The machine has cutting knives that have a sinusoidal like wavy profile at their cutting edge and has an inclined conveyor for conveying the food product loaf and the resulting sliced portions along a feed path. A first knife cuts a slice of determined thickness off the loaf. The slice tips over onto one of its sides onto the conveyor where it is transported to the second knife. The second knife, which is mounted at an angle to the first knife and the travel path of the conveyor cuts the slices into strips. A third knife which is mounted at an angle to the travel path opposite the angle of the second knife cuts the strips into the desired cube like formations. The second and third knife are commonly mounted and are arranged to produce a flying type cutoff to prevent the knives from altering the position of the slices and strips as they are conveyed on the conveyor.

Dicing machine

A machine for slicing a food product in the three dimensions in a single continuous cycle to produce an end product having a determined size and shape. The machine incorporates a first slicing station for slicing a determined length of a first slice off the food product by a first pair of synchronously driven and counter rotating cut off knives and a second slicing station to slice the first slice in two dimensions by a set of gang knives and a second pair of synchronously driven and counter rotating cut off knives to produce a cube of a determined size and shape. The machine has a conveyor system for conveying the food product on a continuous basis through the machine. The rotation of the cut off knives are variable and are set in conjunction with the feed rate of the conveyor system to establish the desired dimensions of the end product. The first slice is transferred onto the conveyor of the second slicing station in a manner to accommodate slicing the first slice in the other two dimensions by the second slicing station. The arrangement of two counter rotating cut off knives at each slicing station facilitates slicing a food product having an extended width whether the width be the width of a single food product or the combined widths of multiple food products placed side by side on the conveyor system.

Automatic slicing machine

An automatic filling machine for forming, sizing, transferring and inserting a food product portion into a container. The machine has forming chambers that are expandable to facilitate receiving a food product in bulk and are contractible to define a column having a cross section mating that of a container to be filled. The chamber is expanded to receive a quantity of a food product that is to be inserted into a container. The chamber is contracted to form the food product received therein into a column as defined by the contracted chamber. An upper plunger is provided to force and compress the formed food product column into a sizing apparatus. A pressure switch controls the compressive force applied to the food product column to provide consistency between sized portions of the food product. The machine is operable under single cycle or continuous cycle mode and is arranged to insert a single sized portion into a container, to insert multiple portions into a container and to insert portions of different food products into a single container. The operation of machine is controlled by a programmable controller.

Machine for inserting a sized portion of a food product into a container

A particulate proteinaceous product and methods for producing the same from waste raw animal parts are disclosed. The product is dry to the touch, is compressible into pellets or cakes, and comprises about 45 to 65 w/w percent partially hydrolyzed, non-denatured animal protein, about 20-35 w/w percent oil derived from the animal parts, about 10-15 w/w percent moisture, and about 0-7 w/w percent ash. The product also has less objectionable odor, less propensity to oxidize, and higher nutritional value than existing products. The method involves mulling raw animal parts, hydrolyzing proteins in the animal parts with enzymes, heating to inactivate enzymes, screening, concentrating and adding oil, pasteurizing, removing water, separating oil and routing a portion of the separated oil to the beginning of concentrating as oil added. The method is distinctive in that it produces a dry, flaky product without the use of a conventional dryer. The method is also distinctive for its substantial resistance to equipment clogging.

Particulate proteinaceous product containing non-heat-denatured animal

A particulate proteinaceous product and methods for producing the same from waste raw animal parts are disclosed. The product is dry to the touch, is compressible into pellets or cakes, and comprises about 45 to 65 w/w percent partially hydrolyzed, non-denatured animal protein, about 20-35 w/w percent oil derived from the animal parts, about 10-15 w/w percent moisture, and about 0-7 w/w percent ash. The product also has less objectionable odor, less propensity to oxidize, and higher nutritional value than existing products. The method comprises a mulling stage wherein the raw animal parts are reduced to a ground condition; a hydrolyzing stage wherein proteins in the ground animal parts are hydrolyzed to a predetermined extent to form an aqueous suspension, using either endogenous or supplementary proteolytic enzymes, and subsequently heated to inactivate the enzymes and convert fats in the suspension to oils; a screening stage wherein non-digestible solids are removed from the suspension; a concentration stage wherein extraneous oil is added to the suspension, the suspension is pasteurized, and a large portion of the water is removed therefrom; and an oil-separation stage wherein sufficient oil is removed to form the product. A portion of the removed oil is routed back to the beginning of the concentration stage as extraneous oil added to the suspension to permit sufficient water to be removed from the suspension without forming a stiff, unprocessable mass. The method is distinctive in that it produces a dry, flaky product without the use of a conventional dryer. The method is also distinctive for its substantial resistance to equipment clogging.

Apparatuses for producing a proteinaceous product by digestion of raw

A particulate proteinaceous product is prepared from waste raw protein-containing animal parts with a method and an apparatus having a mulling stage wherein the raw animal parts are reduced to a ground condition; a hydrolyzing stage wherein proteins in the ground animal parts are hydrolyzed to a predetermined extent to form an aqueous suspension, using either endogenous or supplementary proteolytic enzymes, and subsequently heated to inactivate the enzymes and convert fats in the suspension to oils; a screening stage wherein non-digestible solids are removed from the suspension; a concentration stage wherein extraneous oil is added to the suspension, the suspension is pasteurized, and a large portion of the water is removed therefrom; and an oil-separation stage wherein sufficient oil is removed to form the product. A portion of the removed oil is routed back to the beginning of the concentration stage as extraneous oil added to the suspension to permit sufficient water to be removed from the suspension without forming a stiff, unprocessable mass. The method is distinctive in that it produces a dry, flaky product without the use of a conventional dryer. The method is also distinctive for its substantial resistance to equipment clogging. The proteinaceous product is dry to the touch, is compressible into pellets or cakes, and contains about 45 to 65 w/w percent partially hydrolyzed, non-denatured animal protein, about 20 to 35 w/w percent oil derived from the animal parts, about 10 to 15 w/w percent moisture, and about 0 to 7 w/w percent ash.
