A monitoring and inspection system for a work area includes a non-visual sensory detection sensor, such as a microphone or vibration detection sensor, and a processor. The sensor is configured to sense sounds or vibrations generated in the work area during the performance of an action that are then received by the processor. The processor analyzes the received acoustic and/or vibrational signals and compares the received signals to an expected signal to verify that the identified acoustic and/or vibration signature of the detected signal is an acoustic and/or vibration signature associated with the operational step that was performed to confirm that the operational step has been performed, and that it has been performed properly.

Acoustical or vibrational monitoring in a guided assembly system

A distributed light-guided processing method includes obtaining an order from a requester, for at least one completed product. Raw components are provided to at least one selected remote processing location. The selected remote processing location includes a light guided system. Work instructions are provided to the selected remote processing location, wherein the work instructions enable the light guided system to guide construction of the completed product. The completed product is processed, using at least the raw components, the work instructions, and the light guided system. The completed product is shipped from the selected remote processing location upon completion of the processing.

Distributed production method

A guide system and method of projecting visual indicators onto a physical object to guide actions of an individual comprises providing a guide system having a guide system controller and a projector, with the guide system controller including a plurality of addressed display features. An input signal is provided to the guide system controller whereby an addressed display feature is selected based on the input signal and the projector projects a visual indicator corresponding to the selected addressed display feature onto a physical object. The guide system controller may also include a plurality of positional identifiers, with the method including the selecting of a positional identifier based on the input signal and the projecting of the visual indicator onto a physical object at a location corresponding to the selected positional identifier.

Light guided assembly system and method

A guide system for guiding actions of an individual includes a guide system controller and a head wearable display device that includes a display that is viewable by an individual wearing the device. An information signal from the controller to the head wearable display device generates a visual image on the display corresponding to the information signal that is viewable by the individual, with the visual image providing guidance to the wearer to perform an action and the display being generally transparent and the visual image electronically generated and virtually over laid on a physical object or surface when viewed through the display. Upon completion of an action associated with the visual image, a confirmation signal is provided to the controller.

Eyewear operational guide system and method

An operational guide system () adapted to provide visual indicators to an individual to guide sequential actions includes at least one sensor apparatus (), a controller (), and at least one directional light device (). The sensor apparatus () is operable to detect operation information and generate an output indicative of the sensed operation information. The controller () receives at least a first input signal indicative of the operation information and selectively provides at least one command signal in response to the first input signal. The at least one directional light device () being selectively operable to project and target at least one indicating light in response to the at least one command signal from the controller ().
