An x-ray image detector includes a light image sensor having a depth, a front side comprising a sensing surface, and a back side. The x-ray image detector further includes a substrate plate on the back side and surrounding the depth of the light image sensor such that the substrate plate forms a lip around the light image sensor. The lip is level with the front side of the light image sensor. The x-ray image detector further includes a scintillator over the sensing surface of the light image sensor and at least a portion of the lip.

X-ray detector with directly applied scintillator

An X-ray detector assembly comprising a light attenuator of electro-chromic material, the electro-chromic material having a first electrode layer electrically coupled to a first surface of the electro-chromic material and a second electrode layer electrically coupled to a second surface of the electro-chromic material, wherein the second surface is disposed opposite the first surface, and the light attenuator having a controllable light transmission rate. The X-ray detector further comprising a scintillator deposited on the first electrode layer and a photo detector deposited on the second electrode layer. The photo detector having a sensing surface adjacent to the second electrode layer of the light attenuator. A variable power supply is electrically coupled to the first and second electrode layers of the light attenuator to provide a controllable voltage across the first and second electrode layers to control the light transmission rate of the light attenuator in real time.

X-ray detector assembly

An X-ray detector panel includes a plurality of photodetector wafers are arranged in a photodetector array. Each photodetector wafer comprises a sensing surface, a contact surface disposed opposite the sensing surface, and an electrical contact coupled to the contact surface. A substrate is coupled to the photodetector array such that the photodetector array is substantially surrounded by the substrate and a face surface of the substrate is substantially coplanar with the sensing surface. A scintillator is coupled to the face surface of the substrate and substantially covers the sensing surfaces of the photodetector array. A scintillator cover is substantially sealingly coupled to the face surface.

An X-ray imaging system includes a digital X-ray detector configured to acquire X-ray image data without communication from a source controller and to send the X-ray image data to a portable detector control device for processing and image preview. An X-ray detector includes a light sensor configured to receive light energy from a scintillator receiving X-rays. The light sensor includes a grid of pixels having a light reception surface oriented toward the scintillator and configured to receive light from the scintillator. The diode assembly is disposed on the light reception surface and is configured to produce electric charge responsive to light received by the diode assembly. The control assembly is operably connected to the diode assembly and configured to selectably configure the diodes. The method also includes sampling data via the digital detector including X-ray image data and offset image data. The method further includes calculating an average offset image without prior knowledge of a total number of offset image frames sampled.

Each pixel region includes a first photodiode having a first area and a second photodiode having a second area equal to or smaller than the first area. An X-ray imaging method includes performing an X-ray exposure via an X-ray radiation source responsive to a source controller. The method also includes sampling X-ray image data via a digital detector without communication of timing signals from the source controller. A method and system for detecting the potential of an x-ray imaging system to create images with scintillator hysteresis artifacts includes examining an x-ray image to measure two signal levels for two areas of interest, then determining a difference between the two signal levels and comparing the difference to a threshold. The signal levels can be measured by determining an amount of electrical charge discharged in photodiodes of the detector. If the difference in signals is greater than the threshold amount, then the possibility exists that scintillator hysteresis artifacts may be produced in images. In addition, the present invention also provides for the elimination or reduction in magnitude of scintillator hysteresis artifacts in images produced by an x-ray imaging system. After the possibility of scintillator hysteresis artifacts is detected, the detector can be irradiated with an x-ray flux to eliminate or reduce the magnitude of the artifacts in images produced by the x-ray imaging system.

System and method for compensation of scintillator hysteresis in x-ray detectors

Systems and methods are provided for managing power consumption of a medical imaging detector by the use of triggering signals, environmental condition data, and/or determination of a variable time interval triggering event that is unique for each power consumption state. Systems and methods are provided for managing power and temperature of a device, after receiving a request for a function to be performed by the device determining an 'on' trigger component, an 'off' trigger component, associated circuits for performing the received function, providing power to the associated circuits upon the occurrence of the &#x201c;on&#x201d; trigger component, and removing power to the associated circuits upon the occurrence of the &#x201c;off&#x201d; trigger component. Digital radiography detector with thermal and power management

Systems, methods and apparatus are provided through which in some embodiments the line time of an X-Ray detector is dynamically selected so as to nullify an aliased interference signal. The frequency of a noise signal generated by a source external to the digital X-ray detector is determined and, based on the determined frequency, the line time of the digital X-ray is adjusted so as to compensate for the interfering noise. The frequency of the noise can be directly determined from an electromagnetic interference (EMI) sensor or derived through analysis of the power spectrum of the noise signal.

The process includes accepting input data indicative of image quality goals and descriptors of an imaging task, as well as parameters characterizing a test subject, relative to non-destructive imaging of an internal portion of the test subject and determining when the non-destructive imaging system is capable of achieving the image quality goals using binning of more than four pixels.
