An example imaging apparatus that can operate at shortwave infrared (SWIR) wavelengths are provided. An example imaging apparatus may include a flexible elongate member having a distal end and proximal end. The flexible elongate member may include a shortwave infrared (SWIR) imaging sensor disposed at the distal end and a lens optically coupled to the SWIR imaging sensor and disposed at the distal end of the flexible elongate member, the lens configured to focus light energy at the SWIR wavelength onto the SWIR imaging sensor. The member may also include an illumination source configured to provide light energy at the SWIR wavelength at the distal end of the flexible elongate member for output to illuminate an object.

Short wave infrared imaging endoscopy

An example imaging apparatus that can operate at shortwave infrared (SWIR) wavelengths are provided. An example imaging apparatus may include a fiber optic bundle, a distal lens, an illumination assembly, and an imaging detector. The fiber optic bundle may comprise a plurality of fibers and may be configured to guide light energy at a SWIR wavelength. The distal lens may be disposed on a distal end of the fiber optic bundle and the distal lens configured to focus light energy at the SWIR wavelength. The illumination assembly may be configured to output illumination at the SWIR wavelength adjacent to the distal end of the fiber optic bundle toward an object. The imaging detector may be operably coupled to a proximal end of the fiber optic bundle and configured to receive imaging light energy at the SWIR wavelength reflected from the object and guided through the fiber optic bundle.

Shortwave infrared imaging system

A method of detecting tampering with a conveyance medium may include determining a baseline brightness level detected at opposing ends of an optical fiber segment disposed proximate to the conveyance medium, determining whether a change in brightness above a threshold level occurs, and providing an output indicating that a breach in continuity of a shielding material that shields both the conveyance medium and the optical fiber segment from exposure to ambient light has occurred in response to the change in brightness being above the threshold level.

Method and apparatus for tamper detection along enclosed or buried conduction media using fluorescent optical fiber

Disclosed herein is a critical band encoding technology (CBET) system having at least one portable people meter (PPM) and a home base station and/or household hub, the CBET system containing a radio frequency (RF) proximity detection and identification system, comprising at least one RF transmitter for receiving a control signal, modulating an RF signal to a present modulation frequency upon receipt of the control signal, and wireless transmitting the modulated signal; and an RF receiver for receiving the wirelessly transmitted modulated signal, determining the modulation frequency, and transmitting the modulation frequency to a remote location, wherein the transmission power of the RF transmitter is preset to transmit the modulated data within a predetermined range.

Radio frequency proximity detection and identification system and method

A system and method for monitoring the alertness of a subject are provided. A Doppler sensor is disposed to sense a parameter pertaining to the subject, the sensor being one of an acoustic sensor and a microwave sensor. Signals from the sensor are processed through an alertness monitoring algorithm for generating processed signals. It is thereafter determined whether an impairment of alertness event pertaining to the subject has occurred based on the processed signals. Feedback is then provided to the subject based on a determination of whether an impairment of alertness event pertaining to the subject has occurred.
