An apparatus includes a table including Internet protocol (IP) addresses and corresponding ports, which specify physical and logical a logical links; and a router module for receiving IP packets and using the table to associate the IP packets with the ports without differentiating between ports specifying physical links and ports specifying logical non-persistent links. The apparatus further includes a driver for determining when assets for a logical link have become available, refraining from forwarding associated IP packets to the assets if the assets are not available, and then forwarding the associated IP packets to the assets once the assets have become available.

Routing and forwarding of packets over a non-persistent communication link

According to an embodiment, an apparatus includes a table, a router module and a driver. The table includes IP addresses and corresponding ports. At least one of the ports specifies a logical link. The router module receives IP packets and uses the table to associate the IP packets with the ports. The driver determines when assets for the logical link have become available, and then forwards associated IP packets to the available assets.

Embodiments of the disclosure provide methods, apparatus, and articles allowing two nodes to communicate in a slot-based direct sequencing spreading communication system. Both a preamble sequence and a payload data spreading PN sequence are generated from the Time of Day and a given user code. Generated sequences are synchronized between two communicating nodes to allow slot-based DSSS communication to take place. Generated sequences also change dynamically from slot to slot to provide waveform security.

Method and device of generating time-varying preamble sequence and pseudorandom noise (PN) binary sequence in direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) communications

A device for fast transition from preamble synchronization of a received baseband signal to demodulation of the received baseband signal may include a baseband chip tracking loop to generate an offset tracking value to track any initial chip phase offset and Doppler-caused baseband chip frequency drift associated with the received baseband signal. The device may also include a numerical controlled oscillator to correct any Doppler-caused phase rotation associated with the received signal. The device may additionally include a preamble synchronization unit to detect a preamble of the received baseband signal, and to measure a chip phase offset and a baseband Doppler frequency shift associated with the received baseband signal. The chip phase offset may be used to set an initial chip phase offset value of the chip tracking loop so that the chip tracking loop starts with approximately a zero pull-in error. The baseband Doppler frequency shift may be used to set initial frequency offset values in the chip tracking loop and the numerical controlled oscillator so that both start with substantially near-zero offset errors for substantially immediate demodulation of the received signal. The device may further include an output device to output the data demodulated from the received baseband signal.

The present disclosure provides a test probe or RF radiator in or adjacent the antenna array for supplying and receiving test and calibration signals.

Method for accurate auto-calibration of phased array antennas

A spread-spectrum preamble synchronization peak detection system performs multiple statistical tests based on instant and time-averaged channel condition measurements to identify the synchronization peak. In a normalized peak-to-average test, a peak-to-average ratio measurement is normalized by a signal-to-noise ratio measurement to form a new statistical measure which effectively eliminates the impact of the wide dynamic range of the signal-to-noise ratio of the received samples. A transition SNR test is used to eliminate potential false alarms caused by spurious PARN peaks during the transition period at the onset of preamble arrival. Code-phase aligned time-averaging is used to estimate the signal and noise levels over a sliding window. The code-phase alignment of samples effectively separates signal and noise samples in the averaging process, and resulting in more accurate signal and noise measurements. In estimating noise levels, the system takes multi-path interference into account by excluding both the peak signal and the side-lobe signals caused by multi-path wireless channels, resulting in more accurate estimation of noise level.

Method and device of peak detection in preamble synchronization for direct sequence spread spectrum communication

The present invention is directed to a method of forming a mobile network using Phased Array Antennas. Mobile nodes search for nodes with which to form a network by either transmitting low level announcement signals on a wide spoiled beam directional antenna at progressively increasing power levels, or by receiving announcement signals using a high-gain, narrow directional beam. Low power announcements are compensated for by processing gain in the receive modem. Nodes randomly decide at each step of the scan whether to transmit or receive. Two control slots in an epoch are used for neighbor discovery. The first control slot is to announce or receive an announcement, and the second control slot is used to acknowledge the receipt of an announcement packet. The neighbor discovery process uses in-band communications. The directional communications permit simultaneous links in close proximity to other links without interference.

Method of forming directional wireless networks using in-band channels

Various techniques are disclosed to suppress undesired signal components introduced by non-linear amplifiers of phased array antenna systems to accommodate bandwidths greater than one octave. For example, in accordance with one embodiment, a phased array antenna system includes first and second antenna elements adapted to provide first and second received signals in response to a radio signal. The second antenna element is rotated approximately 180 degrees in relation to the first antenna element. Amplifiers may amplify the received signals to provide amplified signals having a bandwidth greater than one octave. Undesired components of the amplified signals introduced by the amplifiers may be suppressed through appropriate phase shifts performed by associated phase shifters and/or power combiners. A power combiner may combine the first and second output signals to provide a combined signal, wherein the first and second undesired components are suppressed in the combined signal relative to the amplified signals.

Phased array antenna system to achieve suppression of undesired signal components

An ultrasound imaging system is provided which produces gray scale images of the anatomy simultaneous with Doppler signal processing so as to provide a single real-time image that shows not only the vascular anatomy and surrounding tissue but also flow events in the vascular compartment. A phased linear array having near-continuous focus over the scanning field provides high resolution and very small Doppler sample volumes. The system tests incoming signals from throughout the scanning field for amplitude, phase and frequency so as to determine B-mode data, motion presence and direction, and echo source velocity.

Ultrasound blood flow/tissue imaging system

An automatic direction finding system utilizing the doppler principle for indicating the bearing of a radio transmission. The system includes an antenna array of three or more antenna elements equally spaced around a circular path. The antenna elements are connected to the input of a receiver through electronically controlled, variable attenuators which are individually adjusted at the same frequency but differing phases so that the array effectively simulates a single antenna element physically moving along a circular path at a fixed modulation frequency. The receiver includes a mixer-IF stage with the IF output phase locked to a reference frequency so that the absolute time delay through the IF stage is stabilized. The signal is then frequency demodulated, and the modulation signal is extracted by a narrow bandpass commutating filter. The phase of the modulation signal is then compared to the phase of the signal controlling one of the variable attenuators to produce a direction indication proportional thereto.
