A reflector lamp assembly may be formed with a reflector housing having a reflector with a prescribed reflective surface; the reflector formed with a wall defining a through passage. A lamp bulb assembly having an axially extending stem supports a head extending transverse to the axis, the head having a first generally linearly extending region, a first set of LEDs mounted generally in a row along the region oriented to face in one plane towards a reflector. Electrical connections for the LEDs extend through the head, and stem to the exterior of the assembly for electrical connection. A base extends in the through passage and is mechanically mounted to the optical housing with the LED assembly oriented to face the reflective surface.

Led lamp bulb assembly and reflector system

An LED lamp and a method of making an LED lamp in which the lamp includes a heat conductive post with a base and a top, an insulative body within the post that includes plural wireways and plural electrical leads that each extend through a different one of the wireways and whose ends emerge from the top and the base of the post, a head with plural LED assemblies on the top of the post, and a circuit board for the LED assemblies at the base of the post, the leads being connected to respective LED assemblies and to the circuit board. During manufacture, the leads are mounted in the wireways of the insulative body and the assembled body is inserted into the post.

LED lamp with insertable axial wireways and method of making the lamp

A solid-state light sourcecompatible with existing sockets normally reserved for filamented lamps may be formed with a hollow baseformed to mechanically and electrically adapt to a socket. A sub-assemblyadapted to cooperate with and fit into the hollow basecomprises a metal corehaving a bulbous bodyand a narrow, depending foot. A circuit boardsubstantially surrounds the metal coreon two sides. The boardis preferably formed from a flexible printed circuit board material capable of sustaining a bend radius of at least 0.25 inches (6 mm). Solid-state light sources, for example, light emitting diodes (LEDs) are mechanically and electrically connected to one side of the circuit board by suitable electrically conductive traces. A glass domecovers the sub-assemblyafter it is inserted into the hollow baseand is sealed thereto.

Thermally efficient LED bulb

An LED lamp and a method of making an LED lamp in which the lamp includes a heat conductive post with slots in an exterior of the post, and in which a separate LED assembly is inserted into each of the slots, where each of the LED assemblies has a substrate with an LED at a first end thereof, which is inserted into the slot first, and an electrical conductor that extends from the LED to a second end of the substrate. The electrical conductor is connected to a circuit board that is inside a hollow bottom of the post. A reflector and heat sink are attached to the bottom of the post.

Lamp with LED substrates supported by heat conductive post, and method of making such lamp

A lamp assembly is provided which includes a lamp/reflector subassembly coupled together by a lamp coupler. The lamp coupler may include two coupler segments which are configured and dimensioned such that the lamp/reflector subassembly may be enclosed within the two coupler segments which may then be latched together. When latched together, the light source of the lamp will be properly positioned relative to the reflector to provide the desired lumen output. Such lamp assembly does not require a costly lamp to reflector focusing operation. A lamp coupler useful in such lamp assembly is also provided.
