A support member for a differential carrier housing, including a body having first and second apertures configured to align with corresponding apertures on one side of a flange of a carrier housing and configured to receive fasteners extending through the apertures in the carrier housing and corresponding apertures in an axle housing disposed on the other side of the carrier housing, the body extending between the apertures in the carrier housing.

A control rod suspension has at least one dampening structure having an outboard end and an inboard end. The inboard end is pivotally mounted to the vehicle frame. The outboard end is pivotally mounted to a king pin. A king pin rotatably connects the knuckle with a steer axle beam.

A one-piece steering knuckle assembly for vehicles has a flanged body wherein the tie rod arm, hydraulic brake caliper bracket and, in some instances, the steering arm extend from the flanged body in a one-piece forged manner. There are enlarged bosses extending from the flanged body opposite the wheel spindle, the bosses having a bore which are axially aligned to receive a king pin. The flanged body, wheel spindle, tie rod arm and brake caliper bracket are all formed from a single steel billet as a one-piece heavy duty forging. Such a design eliminates the brake caliper/knuckle joint and the tie rod arm/knuckle joint, and thus, it results in savings in assembly time and weight.

One-piece forged steering knuckle assembly

A brake shoe having a noise dampener made of a yielding member secured to the web plate. The yielding member is provided to dampen or counter stick/slip frequencies resulting from the interaction between the brake drum surface and the brake lining during a braking event. Preferably the brake shoe includes two spaced-apart web plates and the yielding member is a coiled spring disposed there between.

A non-driven tubular vehicle axle assembly in which the axle body is formed from the mating of opposing axle sections constructed of sheet material formed into channel members. The utilization of channel members of differing lengths combined in the construction of the axle body along with separately formed spring pads and knuckle/king pin mountings provides for ease of assembly of axles of various length and specification.
