A relief output fluidly connects the protective space to a relief flow path, the relief output and relief flow path configured to vent gas from the protective space and remove any non-mixture fuel from the protective space.

Fuel storage leak mitigation for aircraft

A load bearing member for a lifting and/or hoisting system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a width of the load bearing member. Each tension member includes a plurality of load carrying fibers arranged to extend in a direction parallel to a length of the load bearing member and a matrix material in which the plurality of load carrying fibers are arranged. The load bearing member further includes a lateral layer and a jacket material at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension members.

A fire suppression blends of CF3I and 2-BTP with mol ratios from 1:5 and 5:1 are capable of passing peak inerting and sub-inerting tests. The CF3I:2-BTP fire suppression blends can also include carbon dioxide of up to 80% of the fire suppression blend to provide additional cooling.

Fire suppression blends of CF31 and 2-BTP

A first composition is disclosed that includes a fire-resistant thermoplastic resin. The fire-resistant thermoplastic resin includes 1-20 wt % of an aryl phosphate, includes 1-20 wt % of a phosphate polymer, and 60%-98% of a (meth)acrylic polymer, including units from at least one monomer, wherein the monomer is chosen from methyl methacrylate, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylic acid esters, methacrylic acid esters, acrylonitrile and maleic anhydride. The first composition may further include a fabric or a composite material that is embedded with the fire-resistant thermoplastic resin. In some instances, the aryl-phosphate and the phosphonate polymer synergistically reduce an effective heat of combustion, a peak heat release, or a flame time as compared to a second composition that contains only one of the aryl phosphate or the phosphonate polymer.

A composite structure may comprise a composite core comprising a composite material, and a heat resistant system coupled to the composite core comprising a binder and/or at least one of a heat dissipation material or a thermal barrier material. The heat dissipation material may comprise boron nitride, graphene, graphite, carbon fiber, carbon nanotubes, aluminum foil, and/or copper foil, and the thermal barrier material may comprise montmorillonite, aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, silicate glass, mica powder or flake, aluminum oxide powder, titanium dioxide powder, and/or zirconium oxide powder.
