An interface includes a blast plate having plate structure, the plate structure being formed to substantially conform to a certain portion of an exterior margin of a hull of a certain vehicle and being semi-permanently mounted to the hull by mounting to certain mounting devices present on the exterior margin of the hull and having mounting structure for supportively mounting a standardized add-on device, the mounting structure being designed to facilitate the add-on device being readily mountable on and demountable from the plate structure, the plate structure having structural characteristics for acting to protect the hull from effects of a blast directed at the hull. A modular assembly and a blast plate are further included.

External modular armor assembly

An improved reactive armor system having one or more layers of matrix plates, each plate having a plurality of shallow wells with a plurality of blind holes in each well and an explosive pill in each blind hole. An explosive sheet covers each well and is in close proximity to the pills in the associated wells to insure that all the pills within a well will detonate when one pill therein is detonated. A separation plate covering and held in engagement with each matrix plate isolates each well from the other wells.

Reactive pill armor

The invention provides an improved passive armor system. The armor system uses armor stacks of ceramic tiles connected to layers of glass. The armor stacks are then adhered to the inside of a cover box. The cover box is then secured to a base and then covered with a cloth impregnated with an adhesive.
