A method and apparatus for analyzing characteristics of ECG signal data having a succession of waveforms produced by the beating of the heart. ECG signal data is obtained from a patient. A depolarization feature and a second feature of the waveforms of the ECG signal data are determined. Waveforms of the ECG signal data having a stable heart rate are selected for use in determining the second feature. Waveforms selected are those having minimum depolarization feature standard deviation and minimum depolarization feature dispersion. The depolarization feature and second feature for the heart beats of the selected waveforms are displayed.

Method, computer readable medium, and system for analyzing ECG morphology and time series

A method and apparatus for analyzing the QT interval characteristics of ECG signal data having a succession of waveforms produced by the beating of the heart. ECG signal data is obtained from a patient. The R-R interval and the QT intervals of the waveforms of the ECG signal data are determined. Waveforms of the ECG signal data having a stable heart rate are selected for use in determining the QT interval characteristics. Preferably, the waveforms selected are those having minimum R-R interval standard deviation and minimum R-R interval dispersion. The QT correction (QTc) is computed from the ECG signal data waveforms selected in the foregoing manner or on the basis of clinician editing. The R-R intervals, the QT intervals, and QTc for the heart beats of the selected waveforms are displayed for analysis and diagnosis purposes. The invention can also be used, in an analogous manner, to obtain and display other cardiac data from the ECG waveforms.

Method and apparatus for analyzing and editing ECG morphology and time series

A system and a method for noninvasive ECG detection and diagnosis. The system comprises a multiplicity of electrodes applied to a patient, a data acquisition system for acquiring high-resolution ECG data from the patient; and a processor programmed to process the acquired data in accordance with two or more different ECG analysis algorithms, and then derive a prediction score for a particular clinical end point as a function of the respective results of those ECG analysis algorithms.

Method and apparatus for algorithm fusion of high-resolution electrocardiograms

An apparatus and method for printing on both sides of a medium by passing the medium through a printing device and printing on oppositely facing portions of the medium during a single pass of the medium through the printing device. Preferably, a first print head prints on one portion while a second print head prints on the other portion. The medium is preferably folded so that after the printing is completed and the folded medium is unfolded, the printed information on one portion of the medium correlates with the printed information on the other portion of the medium. The printed information is preferably data that has been measured with respect to time, and the printed data on the oppositely facing portions correlate with respect to time. Preferably, the data is medical patient data in the form of textual data, physiological waveforms, or a combination of both.

An ECG signal is acquired in multiple channels, and sources of interference are filtered from the signals. A covariance matrix is then formed with the channels of data. The invention then employs matrix mathematics to discover a set of eigenvectors that organize the variability of data in a multi-dimensional space along new directions, orthogonal to each other and ranked in order of significance. For each eigenvector, a corresponding eigenvalue is calculated. In addition, coefficients are calculated which correspond to the portion of each eigenvector that is necessary to reconstruct each original vector. From the eigenvector solution of the covariance matrix, the angles between the eigenvectors and the original vectors are determined. The eigenvector coefficients and the angles between the eigenvectors and the original vectors are related by a cosine relationship. The angles calculated for each particular ECG test are compared to a reference set of angles to determine whether the electrodes are placed in the standard ECG electrode placement, an alternative electrode placement, or an incorrect electrode placement.
