A dispensing device for dispensing a foamable product. The dispensing device comprises a dispensing channel (). The dispensing channel has: an inlet () for communicating with a valve-element () of a container () containing the foamable product; and an outlet () for dispensing the foamable product. The dispensing channel () further comprises a variable-volume cavity () at the outlet. The variable-volume cavity () is defined at least partly by a first component () and a second component () that is separate from and rigidly movably with respect to the first component to vary the volume of the variable-volume cavity () between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the variable-volume cavity () has a first volume and the outlet () is closed. In the second configuration, the variable-volume cavity has a second volume and the outlet () is open. The second volume is greater than the first volume.

Dispensing device suitable for a foamable product

A valve assembly for a dispenser. The valve assembly includes a valve body that extends about a longitudinal axis and defines an outer surface and an inner passageway. A valve stem extends through the inner passageway and includes an outer stem surface, an inner stem surface opposite the outer stem surface, and a first orifice extending from the outer stem surface to the inner stem surface. The valve assembly includes a retaining member joined to the valve stem, wherein the retaining member extends outward from the outer stem surface. The valve assembly includes a resilient member and one or more force concentrators configured to operatively engage the resilient member.

A valve assembly for a dispenser. The valve assembly includes a valve body that extends about a longitudinal axis and defines an outer surface and an inner passageway. A valve stem extends through the inner passageway and includes an outer stem surface, an inner stem surface opposite the outer stem surface, a fin extending radially outward from the outer stem surface, and a first orifice extending from the outer stem surface to the inner stem surface. The fin operatively engages a portion of the inner passageway forming a first seal and providing controlled dispensing through the orifice. A valve seal may be joined to the valve steam. The vale seal may operatively engage a portion of the valve body forming a second seal.

An apparatus for dispensing a metered dose of a product, and a method for using the apparatus. The dispensing device has a charging configuration in which an outlet () is closed and a metering chamber () is configured to expand to its expanded configuration while receiving product through an inlet (). It also has a discharging configuration in which the outlet () is open and the metering chamber () is configured to contract to its contracted configuration while expelling the received product through the outlet (), thereby dispensing a metered dose of product. The dispensing device further comprises a latch mechanism (), configured to retain the dispensing device in the charging configuration until the metering chamber () attains its expanded configuration. The method comprises actuating an actuator () of the dispensing device, to fill the metering chamber, and releasing the actuator to dispense the metered dose of product.
