A method performed by a WTRU may comprise transmitting, to a gNB, a first random access preamble on a first physical random access channel (PRACH) resource of a first uplink (UL) carrier and determining that the transmission on the first PRACH resource is unsuccessful. The method may further comprise determining that a maximum number of random access retransmissions on the first UL carrier is met and in response, the WTRU may transmit, to the gNB on a second UL carrier, a third random access preamble on a third PRACH resource. The WTRU may determine an RA-RNTI for a second UL carrier at least in part by a carrier offset. The WTRU may monitor for a random access response (RAR) based on the RA-RNTI.

Methods for supplementary uplink access in wireless systems

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are described herein for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) coverage enhancement for reduced capability wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs). Overbooking rules may be applied, for example, to limit the number of blind decodes, e.g., if/when PDCCH is repeated. A coverage enhancement (CE) level may be determined for a beam. Link recovery may be performed with CE levels. A PDCCH monitoring configuration may include repetitions. The number of blind decodes with repetitions may be limited. A WTRU may report an indication of a best repetition. A WTRU may be configured to perform a measurement associated with a PDCCH repetition, e.g., if/when a PDCCH subject to PDCCH repetition is successfully decoded.

PDCCH coverage enhancement

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are described herein for wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) power saving (e.g., for idle mode). A WTRU may determine a time window associated with one or more paging indicators. The WTRU may monitor for a paging indicator (e.g., a first paging indicator) in the time window. The WTRU may monitor for another paging indicator (e.g., a second paging indicator) in the time window. The WTRU may receive system information blocks (SIBs) if a wake up indication for the WTRU is received in a single paging indication and the paging indicator is the first paging indicator. The WTRU may monitor for a paging PDCCH at a monitoring occasion of a PO in a paging frame if the second paging indicator is received and includes an indication for the WTRU to wake up.

WTRU power saving associated with idle mode

Methods and apparatus for wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) power control are described. A method includes receiving a time domain resource allocation (TDRA) list configuration including entries, each including a resource allocation that includes a slot offset value. L1 signaling is received indicating a minimum slot offset value. Downlink control information (DCI) is decoded on a physical downlink control channel in a slot. An index is obtained from the decoded DCI, identifying an entry in the TDRA list. A particular slot offset value identified by the index is retrieved from the TDRA list and compared with the minimum slot offset value. If the particular slot offset value is less than the minimum slot offset value, the entry is invalid. If the particular slot offset value is greater than or equal to the minimum slot offset value, a physical downlink shared channel is received.

Methods and apparatus for wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) power control

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are described for handling positioning reference signals in a wireless communication system. The positioning reference signals may be assigned priorities that may be used to facilitate various operations of a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) such as positioning related services, collision avoidance, measurement and reporting, etc. The WTRU may be configured with multiple muting patterns associated with the positioning reference signals and may switch between different muting patterns based on the priorities of the positioning reference signals and/or other downlink (DL) or uplink (UL) transmissions that may overlap or collide with the positioning reference signals.

Handling positioning reference signals in wireless systems

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities (e.g. aspects of entities, interfaces and procedures in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and/or network layers L1, L2, l3) are disclosed for low latency medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) assembly in wireless systems, such as 5G flexible radio access technology (RAT) (5gFLEX). Latency may be reduced, for example, by WTRU determination of network transmission parameters and signaling prior to a transmission grant. A WTRU may receive a modulation and coding scheme (MCS), resource range, etc. prior to a grant, e.g., for use in future grants. Data blocks may be incrementally created/encoded prior to a grant. Data units may be segmented, assembled and multiplexed, for example, based on data block sizes that allow MAC and radio link control (RLC) processing prior to a grant. Flexible grant sizes may be provided for early generation of transport blocks before a grant. A minimum guaranteed transport block size (TBS) may be signaled to permit early generation of a MAC PDU. Transmission parameters may be selected prior to a grant, for example, using blind decoding or a DCI reception procedure.

Medium access protocol data unit assembly in wireless systems

Systems, methods, and devices for transferring data with different reliabilities. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is configured with a first modulation and coding set (MCS) table and a second MCS table. The WTRU monitors for a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI). If the WTRU detects a first value for the RNTI, data is transferred with a first reliability. If the WTRU detects a second value for the RNTI, data is transferred with a second reliability.

Methods, systems, and devices for transferring data with different reliabilities

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to receive configuration information associated with a first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state group and a second TCI state group. The WTRU may be configured to report first respective measured downlink received power values and first respective determined power reduction values. The WTRU may be configured to report second respective measured downlink received power values and second respective determined power reduction values. The WTRU may be configured to receive an indication of the first TCI state group via a downlink transmission. The WTRU may be configured to determine a first TCI state from the first TCI state group based on downlink received power information and power reduction information. The WTRU may be configured to send an uplink transmission based on the first determined TCI state.

Beam indication based on TCI state group

Systems for performing radiation exposure monitoring that accommodate operating in multiple frequency bands are provided. A WTRU may be configured to monitor radiation exposure by determining an averaged power over an evaluation period. The radiation may be measured over a moving averaging window. The averaged measured power may be compared against SAR or MPE limits which may be defined in terms of normalized fractions or ratios in dB. The WTRU may be configured to measure for an averaged power periodically and/or in response to triggers.

Specific absorption rate and maximum permitted exposure mitigation

A method and apparatus for performing a channel access procedure and transmitting a set of repetitions is disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to receive information to transmit uplink data. The information may indicate a first number of nominal repetitions and a first number of symbols for each of the first number of nominal repetitions. The WTRU may be configured to determine a set of symbols associated with a first nominal repetition and to transmit a second number of actual repetitions in symbols associated with the first nominal repetition. The second number of actual repetitions and the symbols used to transmit the second number of actual repetitions may be based on an occurrence of an event during the set of symbols associated with the first nominal repetition. The set of symbols associated with the first nominal repetition may comprise one or more subsets of consecutive uplink symbols.

Methods and apparatus for PUSCH repetition

A method for determining a DRX operation in a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) that has information indicating multiple DRX configurations, includes selecting a first DRX configuration from the multiple DRX configurations based on a first cast type and an associated first quality of service (QoS) information for a first sidelink radio bearer (SLRB) configuration, selecting a second DRX configuration from the multiple DRX configurations based on a second cast type and an associated second QoS information for a second SLRB configuration, determining a sidelink monitoring time based on a combination of an active time associated with the first DRX configuration and an active time associated with the second DRX configuration, and monitoring a sidelink control channel using the determined sidelink monitoring time.

Methods for performing discontinuous reception on sidelink

Systems, methods, devices, and instrumentalities are described herein relate to explicit requests for flight path statuses. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may transmit a first message indicating flight path information is available. The WTRU may receive a second message including a flight path reporting configuration. The flight path reporting configuration may request the flight path information. The flight path reporting configuration may include at least one of: a number of waypoints; whether to include timestamp information; or a configuration to periodically report flight path information updates. The WTRU may transmit an initial flight path message within a third message. At a configured periodicity, the WTRU may evaluate whether the flight path information has changed since a previous flight path report was transmitted.

Explicit request for flight path status

Systems, methods, devices, and instrumentalities are described herein related to conditional triggers for flight path update indications. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive configuration information. The configuration information may indicate a trigger condition (e.g., threshold) associated with enabling transmission of a flight path update indication. The WTRU may determine that the threshold associated with enabling transmission of the flight path update indication is satisfied. Based on the threshold being satisfied, the flight path update indication may be transmitted. The WTRU may receive a request to transmit the updated flight path information and transmit the updated flight path information.

Conditional trigger for flight path update indication

A base station may be configured to send a first downlink control information indicating that a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is to transmit uplink data on a first uplink channel. The base station may be configured to receive a plurality of a same value over a second uplink channel in response to a triggering condition. The second uplink channel may be a control channel. The base station may be configured to sending a second downlink control information in accordance with the plurality of the same value over the second uplink channel. The plurality of the same value may be in response to the first downlink control information providing an insufficient amount to transmit uplink data over the first uplink channel. The base station may be configured to send an indication of logical channels that are subject to triggering of an uplink scheduling request.

Methods, apparatuses, systems, etc. directed to beam management for, and/or for use in connection with, multiple cells and/or multiple transmission/reception points are provided. Among the methods is a method that may include any of determining first and second reference signals sets (RS sets) associated with first and second sets of beams; receiving information for first and second beam failure recovery (BFR) sets corresponding to the first and second RS sets, wherein the information indicates an RS set associated with candidate beams (CB-RS set) and an uplink resource set for each of the first and second BFR sets; determining beam failures based on the first and second RS sets; selecting the CB-RS set and UL resource set from the first or second BFR set; determining an RS of the selected CB-RS set; and transmitting information indicating the beam failures using uplink resources of the selected uplink resource set.
