A method and apparatus including the steps of a building information model (BIM) of a security system providing a three-dimensional view of a secured area of the security system including the physical location of any sensors of the security system, an input device of the security system receiving from a user a starting time and ending time of a time interval of interest and a processor of the security system displaying the three-dimensional view of the secured area including a time scale showing the starting time on one end of the time scale and the ending time at an opposing end of the time scale and a respective popup of details for each corresponding sensor of at least some sensors of the security system activated during the time interval of interest, each respective popup graphically connected to the physical location of the corresponding sensor within the three dimensional view.

System and method for visualization of history of events using BIM model

Systems and methods for operating a security system are provided that can include a user interface device displaying a three-dimensional model of a secured area based on a BIM, the user interface device displaying a representation of each of a plurality of security devices in the secured area on the model based on respective coordinates of each of the plurality of security devices in the BIM, the user interface device receiving first user input dividing the model into a plurality of subareas, the user input device receiving second user input identifying a change in at least one operating parameter for at least one of the plurality of subareas, and applying the change in the at least one operating parameter to security devices that are represented on the three-dimensional model of the secured area within the at least one of the plurality of subareas.

System and method for virtual region based access control operations using BIM

Systems and methods for visualizing the history of events are provided. Some methods can include displaying, on a user interface device, a BIM of a secured area, displaying, on the BIM on the user interface device, a respective representation of each of a plurality of sensors within the secured area, the respective representation being displayed on the BIM at a respective location corresponding to respective geographic coordinates of a respective one of the plurality of sensors in the secured area, receiving first user input indicative of a specified time, and displaying, on the BIM on the user interface device, a respective geographic indicator of at least one of the plurality of sensors that was active at the specified time, the respective geographic indicator being displayed at or connected to the respective location on the BIM of the respective representation of the at least one of the plurality of sensors.

There is disclosed herein a system for automatic configuration of cameras in a Building Information Model (BIM) comprising a programmed BIM processing system. A plurality of input ports are distributed at select locations in the building. A database stores a network location map identifying locations of the input ports. The BIM processing system is operated to detect a camera connected to one of the input ports and reading camera image data; determine possible building areas in the camera's field of view based on location of the one of the input ports and extracting features from the stored building models for the determined possible building areas, and establishing mapping between the camera image data and the extracted features to determine actual location of the camera in the building and store camera location data in the database.

A portable card includes a resonance circuit of the portable card that wirelessly receives power from an external source, a processor of the portable card that wirelessly transmits a predetermined data sequence in response to the resonance circuit receiving power from the external source, and a set of at least three contacts on an exterior of the portable card, wherein a user bridges the contacts with the user's fingers in a predetermined combination to create a circuit and activate the processor for transmission of the predetermined data sequence.

A system operates using the steps of a building information model (BIM) of a security system defining a three-dimensional floor plan of a secured area, the BIM receiving a graphical input from a user defining at least one subarea of the secured area, a user input of the security system receiving a selection of the at least one subarea of the secured area, the user input of the security system receiving a change in a parameter from the user of the security system, the parameter is used by a plurality of security devices within the at least one subarea and changing a corresponding parameter within each of the plurality of security devices to match the changed parameter.

An apparatus and a method for generating a unique user identification code for a user of a biometric security system are presented. No biometric information is stored either within the security system or on a device, and the method enables a unique user identification code to be generated to allow multi-system identification of the same user. The method includes receiving a public key from the system, obtaining a characteristic from the user, generating a biometric value from the characteristic, creating the identification code by combining and encrypting the generated biometric value and the system supplied public key, and transmitting the identification code to the system for authentication.

A position detector includes a source of radiant energy, such as infrared light. A sensor is spaced from the source. The source and the sensor can be carried spaced apart from one another by a housing. Control circuits, carried by the housing, are coupled to the source and the sensor. Pulsed radiant energy, emitted by the source is incident on the sensor only when transmitted by a solid optical medium which has a predetermined orientation relative to the housing. When the medium has the predetermined orientation, the sensor receives transmitted radiant energy from the source. When the medium moves from the predetermined orientation, the sensor ceases to receive the transmitted radiant energy from the source, and the control circuits can generate an alarm indication.

Apparatus and method of using a light conduit in a position detector

A door security apparatus including a door strike connected to a structure and electrically connected to a first energy transceiver. The door strike is in spaced mating relationship to a door. A door-locking device is coupled to the door for locking and unlocking the door to the door strike. The door-locking device is electrically connected to a second energy transceiver in spaced mating relationship and electrically communicating with the first energy transceiver. The door-locking device includes an access interface communicating with a microprocessor for receiving an access credential. A controlling device is electrically connected to the first energy transceiver, and the controlling device initiates unlocking and locking the door to the door strike using the door-locking device after evaluating the validity of the access credential received from the access interface.

A door access control system includes a pair of housings. One housing is mounted in the door. The other is mounted adjacent to the door in the surrounding frame. The one housing includes an inductor, control circuits coupled to the inductor and a door side interface. The other includes an inductor, control circuits coupled to the inductor and a frame side interface. The door side interface can be coupled to door mounted devices including a card reader, a request for exit interface and a lock interface. The frame side interface can be coupled to frame side communication links which in turn are coupled to a displaced door access control unit. Communication between housings can be carried out via the inductors.

Integrated on-line door control system with standardized interfaces

A system for controlling access to a secure area includes a lock and an electronic access device for controlling access to a secure area. The lock includes pins for locking and unlocking the lock. The access device communicates with the pins for electrically measuring movement of the pins. The access device stores an unlock pin code for the predetermined position of the pins for unlocking the lock. The electronic access device electrically measures pin movement by a key and determines a key code for the key from the pin movement. A control device electrically communicates with the electronic access device for identifying the key code and determining when the key code matches the unlock pin code.
