An electrical connector system includes first and second electrical connectors mateable in a given general direction (A). Each connector includes a housing having a mating end and at least a pair of terminals mounted on the housing. The pair of terminals of each connector have contact portions engageable with the contact portions of the pair of terminals of the other connector. The contact portions of the terminals of at least one of the connectors are at angles to the mating direction to define a generally V-shaped engaging configuration. The contact portions of the terminals of at least one of the connectors are resilient. Therefore, wiping engagement between the respective terminals is effected during mating of the connectors, and the resilient contact portions are effective to store energy upon mating of the connectors, which energy is effective to assist in unmating of the connectors.

Electrical connector system

An ejector mechanism (10, 110, 210) is disclosed for use with a connector apparatus which includes a housing (12, 112, 212) into which an IC pack is loaded and from which it is ejected. The three part ejector mechanism also includes a one-piece eject lever (14, 114, 214) and a one-piece actuator (16, 116, 216). The eject lever is pivotally mounted on the housing for ejecting the IC pack from the housing. The actuator is movably mounted within an integrally molded channel (34, 138, 234) on the housing and is engageable with the eject lever to effect actuation thereof. Complementary interengaging portions of the housing, the eject lever and the actuator cooperate to effect the relative movements therebetween without the need of extraneous components.

Ejector system for an IC pack connector apparatus

A connector apparatus provides an interconnection between an IC pack and a printed circuit board. The apparatus includes a header connector for mounting on the printed circuit board and into which the IC pack is inserted and from which it is ejected. A plurality of terminals on the header connector are adapted for interconnection of the IC pack to electrical traces on the printed circuit board. An electrical switch is provided on the header connector and is actuated in response to movement of the IC pack therewithin. The switch is interconnected to electrical traces on the printed circuit board.

IC pack connector apparatus with switch means

A connector apparatus is disclosed for providing interconnection between two IC packs and a printed circuit board. A header connector is mounted on the printed circuit board and into which the two IC packs are inserted and ejected. Two independent ejector units each have a separate frame to be attached to the header connector and a separate actuator for moving a respective one of the IC packs from its inserted position to its ejected position. Complementary interengaging latches are provided between the separate frames for holding the ejector units in juxtaposition for conjoint attachment to the header connector.

Connector apparatus for IC packs

A connector apparatus includes a header connector (10) of a given thickness into which an IC pack is loaded and from which it is ejected. An ejecting member (16) is mounted on the header connector (10) for ejecting the IC pack from the header connector. The ejecting member (16) is configured to lie substantially within the thickness profile of the IC pack. An actuating member (18) is provided for actuating the ejecting member (16) to eject the IC pack from the header connector. The actuating member is configured to lie substantially within the thickness profile of the header connector (FIG. 1 ).
