A mobile vehicle service trailer provides a portable maintenance facility for motor vehicles (passenger cars, pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles, etc.) without need to transport the vehicle to a maintenance facility at a fixed location. The present trailer has rearwardly disposed wheels and laterally extendible ramps, enabling the trailer to be positioned laterally at the front or rear of the vehicle needing service and the vehicle to be positioned laterally across the trailer. This configuration provides for ease of loading and unloading the vehicle to and from the trailer in cramped parking situations, such as parking lots and garages, etc. The rear wheels of the trailer are pivotally mounted, allowing the trailer body to be lowered to the underlying surface for placement of a vehicle thereon. A specially formed trailer hitch may be provided for the towing vehicle, allowing the hitch ball to be lowered to the underlying surface to lower the trailer tongue without disconnecting the trailer from the towing vehicle. Corner jacks are provided for raising and lowering the trailer body as desired. A forward and a rearward hydraulically powered lift hoist are provided on the trailer body, for raising the vehicle for access to the underside thereof for maintenance operations (oil changes, etc.). The present trailer also includes a hydraulic power supply for operating the corner jacks, vehicle hoists, and for raising and lowering the ramps as desired.

Vehicle mobile service trailer

A trailer with expandable sides and retractable wheels used for performing on site vehicle maintenance and repair services. The trailer has a rectangular frame mounted on wheels with a conventional trailer coupler for attachment to a towing vehicle. The wheels are pivotally mounted to the frame, the wheels being locked in a ground engaging position for towing the trailer, and being unlocked so that the frame may be lowered into a ground engaging position by a plurality of hydraulic cylinders for the servicing of vehicles. The frame includes a plurality of crossbeams. A pair of side extenders telescope into the front, rear and center crossbeams so that the width of the trailer may be extended by hydraulic cylinders with the frame in a ground engaging position. The trailer includes a two-post hydraulic vehicle lift for raising the vehicle to be serviced.

A programmable system for providing a programmable ratio of output pulses to input pulses. The programmable system receives pulses from an electric power meter and outputs a programmable number of pulses representing a number of kilowatt hours consumed. Various electric power meter disk patterns can be processed by the programmable system. The programmable ratio can be applied via input pins and/or via an external memory.

Pulse ratio system

Display apparatus includes a microcomputer, a multi-digit seven-segment display module, and a decoding addressable latch device. The segment inputs of the display module are connected through a buffer to microcomputer output lines to permit the microcomputer to generate seven-segment code. The address inputs of the latch device are connected to the same microcomputer output lines, and the output lines of the latch are connected through a buffer to digit select line of the display device. The microcomputer first generates a digit select address code which is supplied to the latch inputs and frozen there by microcomputer actuation of the latch ENABLE input. This causes the latch to latchably energize the specified digit select line, and the microcomputer outputs the seven-segment code of the desired display character to the segment inputs of the display module. By connecting the latch address inputs and display module segment inputs in parallel, the apparatus provides microcomputer generation of the seven-segment code while reducing the number of microcomputer output lines required. Objectionable effects of 'ghost' energization of undesired segments caused by multiplexing latch address information and display data are minimized by selection of the multiplexed segments according to predetermined criteria, and by deenergizing all segments of all digits when a blank character is to be displayed.

Electronic display apparatus using time multiplexed data and control

An electric energy meter has a programmable time based measuring system carried in a sealed enclosure for mounting the meter at a metering location. A radiation sensitive external data interface receives and transmits data encoded radiations through a transparent communications window of the enclosure. Pulse data is processed by the external data interface in serial data bit transmissions in and out of the measuring system for programming, readout and testing of the system.

An AC electric energy meter includes a metering sequence logic control circuit for receiving pulses responsive to an AC energy quantity to be measured. Electric energy parameters are measured by the control circuit as it concurrently registers clock time and calendar data. A programmable rate selection table controls variable time intervals for accumulating different parameters during predetermined daily time measuring categories corresponding to different billing rates. The rate selection table includes plural rate switch control points defining daily measuring times nominally on a day of the week basis. A programmable yearly date code table designates days during the year for still different daily code times. The measured parameters are stored in separate electronic registers so as to have coded values of kilowatthours and/or kilowatt demand for direct electronic display in a multiplexed and reoccurring sequential order.

An automatic transfer control device for generating signals to cause associated circuit interrupters to selectively energize an electrical distribution system from either of a pair of electrical power sources. The device includes an over- and under-frequency monitoring circuit to determine if the power source frequency is within preset limits. The frequency monitoring circuit includes a zero-crossing detector which activates a clock oscillator, the output pulses of which are accumulated by a counter for one half cycle. The number of pulses occurring during the half cycle is compared with a limit value stored in a read-only memory. An alarm signal is activated if the number of pulses accumulated is out of limits. The address inputs of the read-only memory are connected to the alarm signal generator and to a flip-flop toggled by the zero-crossing detector so that any of four limit values are selectively accessed for input to the comparator: high limit, low limit, return-to-normal after high alarm, and return-to-normal after low alarm. A strobe circuit is provided to only momentarily energize the read-only memory, thereby reducing power consumption.

Automatic transfer control device and frequency monitor

A time based measuring system for electric energy meters includes a non-volatile data memory for processing time related data. The system further includes a main DC supply energized from an AC source and an auxiliary DC supply energized by a primary battery source. The data memory and a low power secondary timer circuit are energized from the auxiliary DC supply in response to failure of the main DC supply. A low power circuit arrangement including the secondary circuit continues current time and calendar registrations during a power outage.

A metering system for electric utility power line measurements includes voltage and current signal inputs that are randomly sampled and converted to binary representations. A system sequence controller and calculator provides programmed control for processing digital control and data signals and for producing digital calculations of electric energy parameters from the binary representations of the instantaneous signal values. Memory registers totalize and accumulate digitally calculated values for producing visual displays and output signals that correspond to electric energy parameters to be measured.
