A rigid bar of material is fastened to a circuit board to increase its stiffness. The bar is preferably a high modulus plastic such as liquid crystal polymer. Flexible fingers which surround a central opening are formed integrally with the bar and pop into throughbores in the circuit board. Each finger has at least one arcuate protrusion and, preferably several, which can engage the bottom of the circuit board. A rigid pin which may be made of steel is slid into the central opening and has an interference fit therewith to hold it in place to prevent flexible fingers from moving inwardly so the stiffener is held fast to the circuit board. In one embodiment, the stiffener has an I-beam cross section and arches enhancing the resistance to bending.

Circuit board stiffener

Circuit board stiffener and method of attachment to a circuit board

A circuit breaker power distribution panel which is constructed in the form of a single unit. The panel includes an electrically insulative base which include first and second electrical connectors that are to respectfully removably connect to mating electrical terminals of a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker is to be removably connected to the panel. Imbedded within the panel and mounted on the electrically insulative base is an input busbar and an output busbar. The first electrical connector is part of the input busbar. The input busbar is electrically connected to the circuit breakers with the power from the circuit breakers being transmitted to the second electrical connectors which are also imbedded within the panel. A load terminal connects with each second electrical connector with there being a separate load terminal for each second electrical connector. There is a separate load for each circuit breaker. Associated with each load terminal is a return terminal with the return terminals of all the load terminals being connected to an output busbar which is also imbedded within the electrically insulative base. The output busbar is connected to an appropriate electrical ground. An auxiliary circuit connects with each circuit breaker. The auxiliary circuit is to activate (or deactivate) an annunciator giving a visual and/or audible indication of whether a circuit breaker is open or closed. A feed-through capacitor is mounted between the input breaker and the output busbar to supply additional electrical power during a short burst in power usage.

Circuit breaker power distribution panel

An electrical connector assembly which is used to connect between a pair of spaced-apart terminal posts. The electrical connector assembly is formed of a clip section and a removable, springy wire member. The clip section is formed of substantially pure copper thereby having a high degree of electrical conductivity. The clip section is to have a pair of spaced-apart legs, with the terminal posts to be located therebetween. The wire member is to be inserted over the clip section and is to exert a spring bias to continuously maintain the leg members in tight contact with the terminal posts.

Electrical connector clip assembly

An electrical jumper assembly for establishing an electrical connection between a spaced pair of terminal posts. The electrical jumper assembly is formed of a sheet material, non-electrically conductive housing within which there is located an electrical conducting bar. Attached to said bar are a pair of spaced-apart, spring biased clips. The terminal posts are to penetrate the housing and tightly engage with the spring biased clips forming an electrical connection through the bar. The plug closes the open, upper end of the housing. Each longitudinal end of the plug includes a recess. A terminal post is to connect with each recess.

Electrical jumper assembly

An electrical connector which is covered on its exterior surface with a non-adhering, non-electrically conductive material. The electrical contact surfaces of the electrical connector are free of the non-electrically conductive material. This electrical connector is manufactured by mounting the electrical connector on a mounting fixture wherein the electrical contact surfaces are in direct contact with the mounting fixture, heating the electrical connector to within a desired temperature range, then submerging the electrical connector in a quantity of powdered plastic which evenly coates the exterior surface of the electrical connector, removing the electrical connector from the powdered plastic, reheating of the electrical connector to cause fusing of the powdered plastic into an integral mass, cooling of the electrical connector and then removing such from the mounting fixture.

Insulated electrical connector and method of making same

An electrical conducting strip to form an electrical conducting path between a plurality of terminal posts within a bus bar. The electrical conducting strip is to include a plurality of spaced-apart opening arrangements with each opening arrangement being adapted to connect with a terminal post. Each opening arrangement includes an access opening and an engaging opening. The terminal post is to enter the opening arrangement through the access opening and then move longitudinally until the side walls of the engaging opening tightly clamp the terminal post.

Electrical conducting strip

A bus bar assembly which uses a separate pair of electrical conducting members. Between the electrical conducting members there is located a selectively variable capacitance assembly. The entire bus bar assembly is hermetically sealed by a covering assembly once a desired amount of capacitance has been located between the electrical conducting members.
