Improved telescoping railcar uncoupling levers have improved bearings that resist damage. Moreover, the uncoupling levers include removable lock lifter linkage hooks. In addition, the uncoupling levers comprise an improved handle loop shape allowing the levers to be more easily installed and/or removed when damaged. Methods of using the same are further provided.

Railcar uncoupling lever apparatus and methods of using the same

An add on device assembly for surge arresters used in substation, distribution and transmission applications that provides a means to electrically and mechanically disconnect a surge arrester at the end of life, such that it leaves a physical dimension between electrodes that is able to withstand normal system voltage and at the same time continue to provide surge protection until the arrester is replaced. The assembly contains a spring locking assembly that will lock a line spacing buss in an open position post isolator operation. The resultant gap is set to provide sufficient air insulation for system voltage and at the same sufficient surge protection for the system Basic Insulation Level.

Extended protection surge arrester device

A surge arrester assembly comprises a ground connector with a clamping component and line connector assembly that incorporates non-bolted mechanical and electrical connections. The assembly connections permit the use of insulating hot sticks for installation and removal of the arrester module for safe and rapid removal and replacement of expired surge arresters. The clamp and line connector are reusable for replacement of surge arresters.

Hot stick quick connect surge arrester assembly

An improved process for repair of worn and damaged surfaces of railway structures such as frog and diamond transition surfaces, rail head surfaces and wheels. A worn or damaged surface is prepared using a robotically-controlled laser to melt or gouge away metal using controlled laser energy and air pressure to remove existing worn or damaged surfaces. The process further utilizes laser cladding, laser weld overlaying, or laser additive manufacturing, of formulated powder, wire or stick welding material to worn surfaces that have been prepared for material build-up to original dimensions and similar metallurgical properties.
