An airbag module is disposed in the vehicle seat as an anti-submarining airbag module that includes an inflator, or a connection therefor, a tubular airbag, the two free ends of which are folded over at least once transversely relative to the longitudinal direction of the airbag to form loops, and wherein inserted into the loops of the airbag is a clamping member, by means of which the two layers of the folded-over parts of the airbag are brought into contact, to seal the airbag at least partially in a gastight manner.

Anti-submarining airbag module

An airbag module has at least a housing and an inflator. The inflator is pushed into a securing device on the housing in a longitudinal direction of the inflator. A first longitudinal end of the inflator abuts against an abutment on the housing. A securing element is inserted into the housing behind a second longitudinal end of the inflator and abuts against the second longitudinal end.

Airbag module

A method of folding an airbag of an airbag module includes the steps of: arranging the airbag and a base plate on a receiver of a folding device, with the airbag secured to the base plate, and stretching the airbag out. In order to make the device low-cost and to give a reliable procedure, a central portion of the airbag remote from the base plate is secured to a holding device of the folding device, and the airbag is stretched out by pulling the secured central portion by a movement of the holding device relative to the receiver.
