Techniques for providing multi-user multi-touch projected capacitive touch sensors are disclosed herein. Some embodiments may include a method that includes receiving a first sense signal from a first sensing array, the first sensing array configured to provide the first sense signal indicating a first touch on a first touch surface of a touch substrate as well as receiving a second sense signal from a second sensing array, the second sensing array configured to provide the second sense signal indicating a second touch on a second touch surface of a second touch substrate occurring concurrently to the first touch. The method may further include determining whether the first touch and the second touch share at least one anti-ghost. The method may also include associating the first touch and the second touch with a common touch entity in response to determining that the first touch and the second touch share the at least one anti-ghost.

Multi-user multi-touch projected capacitance touch sensor with event initiation based on common touch entity detection

Techniques for providing multi-user multi-touch projected capacitive touch sensors are disclosed herein. Some embodiments may include a method that includes receiving a first sense signal indicating a first touch attributed to a first touch entity and receiving a second sense signal indicating a second touch attributed to a second touch entity. Based on the first sense signal and second sense signal, the method may further include determining that the first touch entity and the second touch entity are a common touch entity. Furthermore, the method may include initiating an event in response to determining that the first touch entity and the second touch entity form a common touch entity.

Techniques for providing multi-user multi-touch projected capacitive touch sensors are disclosed herein. Some embodiments may include a touch sensor including a touch substrate with a touch surface, a sensing array, and a controller. The sensing array may be configured to provide sense signals indicating a first touch and a second touch occurring concurrently on the touch surface of the touch substrate. The controller may be configured to receive the sense signals from the sensing array and based on the sense signals, determine whether the first touch and the second touch share at least one anti-ghost. In response to determining that the first touch and the second touch share the at least one anti-ghost, the controller may be configured associate the first touch and the second touch with a common touch entity, such as an individual person.

Multi-user multi-touch projected capacitance touch sensor

The control of an antenna tuner for a portable electronic device includes closed loop tuning when sufficient transmit power is present. The closed loop tuning commences using a predetermined antenna tuner configuration for an operational band and device state. The closed loop tuning may be constrained by a tuning range associated with the predetermined antenna tuner configuration for the operational band and device state. Also, when transmit power is low or when a transceiver is in a receive only state, open loop tuning may be conducted by placing the antenna tuner in the predetermined (or default) configuration for the operational band and phone state.

Communications circuitry for an electronic device

A device may include a component including an electroactive polymer (EAP) material configured to generate a voltage in response to movement of the component. The device may also include voltage detector coupled to the component, the voltage detector configured to detect voltage generated by the component. The device may further include processing logic configured to perform a function based on the detected voltage.

An electronic touch panel includes a plurality of spaced apart first sensor plates that are arranged in a first direction on a first planar layer. A proximity sensor plate is spaced apart from and attached to the first planar layer. The proximity sensor plate has a greater surface area than a plurality of the first sensor plates. A position detection circuit is configured to electrically charge the first sensor plates to generate capacitive coupling to an adjacent user object and to detect therefrom a location of the user object relative to the first direction across the first planar layer. The position detection circuit is further configured to electrically charge the proximity sensor plate to generate a higher level of capacitive coupling to the user object than a plurality of the first sensor plates and to detect therefrom a proximity of the user object relative to a direction away from the first planar layer.

An electronic device has a display, a controller, and a pair of haptic transducers connected to the display. The controller configures the haptic transducers to momentarily vibrate the display. A pair of sensors disposed on the display detects variations caused by the user touch in the vibrations. Based on an analysis of these variations, the controller can determine the location of the user touch on the touch-sensitive display.

Active acoustic touch location for electronic devices

A mobile communication device contains a plurality of displays. A control module and one of the displays is contained by a first housing. Another housing, bearing a second display, is slidably engageable with the first housing. An optical data transmission mechanism is coupled between the control module and the second display. Data generated by the control module can be converted to optical signals and transmitted through the optical transmission path for control of the second display.

Mobile device display implementation

An electronic touch panel includes a plurality of spaced apart touch sensor pads that are arranged in a first direction on a planar layer. A proximity sensor pad is on the planar layer and is electrically isolated from the touch sensor pads. The proximity sensor pad has a greater surface area than a plurality of the touch sensor pads. A position detection circuit is configured to electrically charge the touch sensor pads to generate capacitive coupling to an adjacent user object and to detect therefrom a location of the user object relative to the first direction across the planar layer, and configured to electrically charge the proximity sensor pad to generate a higher level of capacitive coupling to the user object than a plurality of the touch sensor pads and to detect therefrom a proximity of the user object in a perpendicular direction to the planar layer. The proximity sensor pad may extend as a continuous line on the planar layer between adjacent spaced apart columns of the touch sensor pads.
