A truck bumper dock extension with a flip step configurable for use on a truck body to provide a functional bumper and a dock extension for loading and unloading at an elevated truck-dock and with the flip step configurable for use on the truck body for loading and unloading at an un-elevated surface, such as for home delivery. A walking ramp and stowing compartment is secured by the flip step for secure transport and removable access to a walking ramp.

A modular frame structure for a cargo area of a truck includes rails, side structures and pre-fabricated assemblies. Each of the rails include elongated portions having interlocking seats for interdigitally engaging the rail portions. The interlocked rail portions also urge against and counterpose each other for reducing the stress on the interlocking seats. The rails are fastened or welded to the side structures and the pre-fabricated assemblies to complete the modular structure.

Modular truck cargo area body

A door panel latching apparatus including first and second elongated rods telescoped together for relative sliding movement. The first rod is mounted to the door with a free end for latching near an upper door edge and free to rotate about its longitudinal axis but is prevented from moving longitudinally. The second rod is mounted to the door with a free end for latching near a lower door edge and free to rotate about its longitudinal axis and to move along its longitudinal axis. A handle is connected to the rods by a linkage for longitudinally moving the second rod when the handle is rotated about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the rods and for rotating both rods when the handle is rotated about an axis which is coincident with the longitudinal axes of the rods.

Latching apparatus for a panel door

A vertical tensioning means and a horizontal tensioning means for a curtained door of a van body. The vertical tensioning means comprises at least one set of rollers which are rollably movable in each of upper and lower tracks located opposite the top and bottom of the van body. The vertical tensioning means also includes adjustable straps which communicate with upper and lower brackets which hold the rollers. The horizontal tensioning means comprises an end plate which includes a cam keeper portion capable of being engaged by a cam. The curtain of the door is bossed against the end plate. Horizontal tensioning of the curtain is provided when the cam engages the end plate.

Curtained doors for vehicle bodies

An improvement in a curtained door and net assembly wherein the net is contained in a curtain-sided van body. The improvement comprises a means for attaching the net to the curtained door. In a preferred embodiment, the improvement comprises a pocket means for containing the net which is attached to the curtained door.

Door and hinge construction for overhead doors is disclosed for use with sliding door panels, which includes combination hinge and roller housings engaged with and located at each side of the door panels, serving to retain the panels together, and which carry rollers which ride in tracks outside the door panel, with hinge and seal members engaged with the panels between the combination housings providing for hinged door movement and sealing against the entry of dirt and water.

A brake lockout system is provided for use in conjunction with the air brake systems of heavy vehicles, such as trucks that are equipped with other air operated equipment to prevent release of a parking brake unless the air operated equipment is in a disengaged condition.

A truck or trailer body construction is disclosed in which the front portion is shaped to reduce dynamic drag, which has a maximum interior capacity, and in which the front corners, which are particularly subject to damage, can be readily replaced. Provisions are also made for diagonally mounted lights and for relief of air pressure at the upper part of the front corners.

A latch mechanism for walk ramps for truck bodies and the like is disclosed which includes, on each side of the walk ramp at its rear end and for retaining the walk ramp in its stored position usually below the floor of the truck body, locking handles carried on vertical pivots and provided with latch fingers which are normally resiliently urged to locked positions but movable to release positions to permit the withdrawal of the walk ramp for use.

A ramp and ramp carrier for trucks and the like is disclosed in which the truck body is provided with long rails comprising I-beams which carry the cross members and truck floor, the long rails being adapted to be supported by and secured to the spaced parallel truck frame rails in a conventional manner, the ramp being pivotally connected to a carriage which is supported by a trolley movable in a longitudinal track secured to the cross members of the body, the ramp and carriage being normally stored between the long rails of the truck body and being retractable for use with one end of the ramp hooked into the floor end plate and the other end resting on the ground.
