The invention discloses certain 1-phenyl-pyrazole derivatives having pharmacological activity in animals and useful as glucagon inhibiting agents. Nearly all of the compounds of this invention are prepared by cyclization of a phenyl hydrazine compound with a 1,1,3,3-tetra-C.sub.1-4 -alkoxy-propane compound.

The compounds are 4-naphthyl-4-lower alkyl substituted-2-oxygenated-2-butenes, or butanes; the naphthyl position may be unsubstituted or 6-substituted, e.g., 2-(6-methoxynaphthyl)-2-penten-4-ol, and are useful as pharmaceuticals.

4-ALKYL-4-NAPHTHYL-BUTANES

The compounds are aryl-pyridazinone derivatives, e.g., 1-methyl-5-(2'-fluoro-5'-trifluoromethylphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo [4,3-c]pyridazin-6(5H)-one. They are useful as antihypertensives and are prepared by treating a hydrazinopyridazinone with a dialkylamino dialkyl-acetal.

Antihypertensive aryl pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridazinones

Amino and substituted amino-hydrazinopyridazines, e.g., 4-methyl-amino-3-hydrazinopyridazine and 4-ethylamino-6-chloro-3-hydrazinopyridazine, are prepared from 3,4,6-trihalopyridazines and are active as hypotensive/antihypertensive agents.
