A rolling mill, especially an inclined roll or Diescher roll mill. Its stand is formed by a pair of portal frames on a cast plate on a foundation spaced apart by cassettes holding the upper and lower roll units and tie rods securing the portal frames against one another and the cassettes. The tie rods are spaced apart vertically or horizontally on the portal frames.

Rolling mill, especially for inclined or Diescher rolling

A disengageable universal shaft for rolling mill drives having a flange on the roll side that can be coupled centrally with the coupling sleeve attached to the roll shaft and a flange at the gear side that is connected with the drive via a spline shaft that enables the disengaging movement. The spline shaft is penetrated centrally by an extensible part of a piston-cylinder unit and is constructed at the output stub on the gear side. This output stub is enclosed by a longitudinally displaceable coupling bushing that is connected with the flange of the universal shaft on the gear side.

Disengageable universal shaft for rolling mill drives

A two-high cross rolling mill with driven rolls situated one above the other and a pair of rotatably driven guide disks which are supported in rockers which are swivelable around vertical axles and can be adjusted transversely to the swivel axis of the rockers. To optimize the adjusting time and adjusting accuracy, each of the two bearing members of each guide disk is arranged in a vertically adjustable chock so as to be swivelable around a horizontal axis extending transversely to the rolling direction. Each chock is fastened in turn in a clampable manner in a bearing slide which is adjustable in the direction of these swivel axes in horizontal planes and arranged in each instance in fitted guides which are guided in the rockers so as to be displaceable parallel to the rolling direction independently from one another.

Pre-reduction equipment for guiding a pipe blank and reducing its end before it enters an 'Assel' rolling mill, which is disposed immediately downstream from the pre-reduction equipment and consists of several freely rotatable rollers, which are disposed uniformly distributed about the pipe blank and can be set concentrically against the pipe blank and the setting motion of which can be controlled as a function of the determined position of the pipe blank. In order to make it reliably possible to initially roll particularly short pipe blanks with simple means, it is proposed that, for the initial rolling of short pipe blanks, the blanks are introduced into the 'Assel' rolling mill by moving the pre-reduction equipment with the rollers clamping the pipe blank and, during the initial rolling in the 'Assel' rolling mill, can be rotatably guided in lunette fashion by the rollers of the pre-reduction equipment.
