A method and arrangement for determining measurements that need to be registered are disclosed. The method retrieves a plurality of clinical reports, detects a measurement in each of the plurality of clinical reports, and determines which of the detected measurements have been registered in a defined structured format. A method also identifies a plurality of patients with scheduled future clinical exam, determines if any of the plurality of patients have measurements that require registration and places the plurality of patients with the measurements requiring registration on a worklist. A further method retrieves data for a plurality of patients, determines whether each of the patients have new measurements, determines, for each of the patients, whether the new measurements have been registered, identifies a radiologist for each of the new measurements and generates a compliance scorecard for each of the radiologists.

The present disclosure pertains to computer-assisted search of image slices. In some embodiments, an image slice having a detected finding (and representing a cross section of at least a portion of an individual) may be determined. A search space may be reduce to a subset of image slices respectively representing a cross section corresponding to the cross section represented by the determined image slice. The search space reduction may comprise filtering a set of image slices based on the cross section represented by the determined image slice. Image slice information related to the determined image slice and related one or more image slices (of the image slices subset) may be obtained based on the search space reduction. A determination of whether indications of the detected finding exist in the image slices (of the image slices subset) may be effectuated based on the image slice information.

Systems and methods for computer-assisted search of image slices for indications of a finding

A system and method are provided for enabling a user to annotate a medical image. A collection of key-value pairs is provided, in which a key represents an image-observable quantity and a value represents the value of the image-observable quantity. A collection of structured finding objects is provided, wherein each structured finding object represents a set of key-value pairs, each set of key-value pairs representing a different annotation of the medical image. The user is enabled to select one or more of the collection of key-value pairs, thereby obtaining a user-selected structured finding object which represents a preliminary annotation of the medical image by the user. At least one recommended structured finding object is selected by using the user-selected structured finding object as input to a probabilistic recommendation algorithm. Feedback is provided to the user on the basis of the recommended structured finding object. The annotation is well suited for, e.g., pointer-based selection via a graphical user interface, speech recognition, etc. Moreover, machine interpretability may be improved compared to conventional string-based annotation.

A dynamic transfer syntax efficiently transfers data, including large data images, from a server to at least one client. Source data is transformed into a hierarchical representation. The hierarchical representation, consisting of essentially non-redundant data, is a plurality of levels of transform data, such that a level of the hierarchical representation comprises transform data sufficient to reconstruct the source data at a resolution corresponding to the level. The server transfers transform data from a level of the hierarchical representation corresponding to a desired resolution. To render a new view of the source image at the client, the client requests from the server coefficients of the transform data necessary to reconstruct the new view. In response to the request, the server transfers to the client the additional transform data, and the client reconstructs the new view from the coefficients transferred. A medical imaging application for the dynamic transfer syntax is disclosed.

Methods and apparatus for dynamic transfer of image data

A navigation rectangle controls display of medical images in a multi-display system. Multiple thumbnail sized medical images are displayed on a control panel. Each navigation rectangle encompasses one or more thumbnail size medical images on the control panel. In turn, images, corresponding to the thumbnail size medical images encompassed by the navigation rectangle, are displayed on a monitor that corresponds to the navigation rectangle. The user may fully move the navigation rectangle to select any images within an exam, and the user may resize the navigation rectangle to include or exclude images. The user may move images in and out of the navigation rectangle.

Methods and apparatus for controlling the display of medical images

An image transfer object is disclosed that provides the necessary mechanism to conduct a dynamic transfer operation. The image transfer object includes a static reference to dynamic data. The image data is 'dynamic', in that the user may request additional views of the image. An image recipient computer receives the static reference to identify a source image on a server, and generates a first request, based on the static reference, for a view of the source image to the server. In response, the server transmits data to the image recipient computer. The image recipient computer displays the first view of the source image for viewing by the user. The user may then select a different portion of the source image, and/or a different resolution to designate a second view of the source image. The image recipient computer generates a second request to the image server for the second view, and the image server transmits additional data to generate the second view of the source image. Thereafter, the second view of the source image is displayed at the image recipient computer. A sender of the image may transmit a context for the image via e-mail or the recipient computer may download the image from a Web site. Techniques to configure the dynamic transfer object are also disclosed.

Methods and apparatus for an image transfer object

A user interface for a medical informatics system, which permits a physician to work with digitized medical images in a manner that the physician is accustomed to working with traditional analog film, is disclosed. The user interface includes a through a patient browser view to provide the ability to select studies, which consist of medical images and series, for patients. After selecting the studies, the user, through a patient canvas view, may then organize the studies as well as the images/series within the studies, including resizing the studies and the images/series within a study. The user may also pan and zoom images to view portions of an image at various resolutions. Furthermore, the user of the user interface may analyze the image by selecting to view the image in detail in a large floating window.
