This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for reliable communication between a source device, and two or more sink devices. In one aspect, a sink device closest in proximity to the source device can establish a wireless data transfer with the source device. In another aspect, the sink device having the more favorable radio channel conditions can establish a wireless data transfer with the source device. In some aspects, the sink devices can forward audio data received from the source device over a secondary communication link. The audio data can be forwarded to the other sink device automatically, or upon request from the other sink device. The secondary communication link can be implemented as a magnetic communication link, or as a Bluetooth communication link.

Reliable wireless communication with a source using relayed communication

The present application relates to apparatus for wirelessly charging a rechargeable battery, the apparatus comprising: a charging resonator assembly for converting energy from a magnetic field external to the apparatus into an electric current; and a charging circuit for charging the battery using the electric current, wherein the charging resonator assembly includes a plurality of microelectromechanical system (MEMS) switches which, when open, divide the charging resonator into a plurality of electrically unconnected resonator portions, and which, when closed, connect the plurality of resonator portions to form a continuous resonator.

Apparatus for wirelessly charging a rechargeable battery

In a medium access control (MAC) protocol for a wireless communications network, communications between a control point and other nodes are coordinated by a repeated superframe. This superframe contains in sequence a contention-free period (CFP ), a contention-based period, and second contention-free period (CFP ). Prior to CFP a node hops from one channel frequency to another. CFP in a superframe is used for initial transmission of isochronous data (such as voice signals); CFP of the following superframe is used for retransmission of any such data which were not correctly received at the first attempt, after the frequency hop at the start of that following superframe. This arrangement minimises delay before retransmission of data, and improves the robustness of the system.
