An automated document processing system is disclosed. The system includes a magnetic character reader located along a path of travel of a document. The system also includes a first image scanner located after the magnetic character reader along the path of travel, the first image scanner configured to capture an image of a first side of the document. The system further includes an endorser located after the magnetic character reader along the path of travel, where the endorser is configured to print an endorsement on at least one side of the document. The system also includes a second image scanner located after the endorser along the path of travel, the second image scanner configured to capture an image of the at least one side of the document endorsed by the endorser.

An automated document processing apparatus comprising a detector; a plurality of pockets; and a pocket selector gate assembly which causes a document being processed by the apparatus to be routed to one of the plurality of pockets based on information read from the document by the detector, the route of the document being determined by the position of a pocket selector gate, the pocket selector gate position being controlled by a motor which is mechanically coupled to the pocket selector gate, the mechanical coupling being such that, when the pocket selector gate is in a first position, the pocket selector gate is locked in place even after the motor has been deenergized. The mechanical coupling may be achieved by way of a link arm and pin, the pin mating with the link arm and engaging a mating slot of the pocket selector gate.

The present invention relates generally to purification and separation of a fluid flow stream, and more particularly, to a separation system including a device for dispersing the fluid flow and separating pollutants there from. The device includes a vertical screen and baffle wall positioned in a fluid flow stream between the inlet and outlet openings of a chamber. The chamber can include a sump for collecting and storing sediment that is separated from the fluid. The present invention also relates to a method of purifying and separating a fluid flow stream.

A document processing system includes a feeder stage and a transport stage. The document track assembly includes at least one feedback section forming a document return path that extends from an exit point at one part of the document track to a reentry point at another part of the document track further back, upstream. The document track assembly is configured to allow the selective rerouting of a document through the document return path to make a repeat pass through a processing station located between the document track reentry point and the document track exit point. This provides increased reliability in document processing, particularly when processing involves checks, obtaining electronic images of checks, and check truncation.

A processor bus bridge includes a buffer space disposed between a first bus and a second bus. The first bus is operated in a first mode by a first processor and the second bus is operated in a second mode by a second processor. The first bus has an electrical structure which is different from the electrical structure of the second bus. The first mode may also differ from the second mode. The processor bus bridge has a protocol logic module disposed between the first processor and the second processor for controlling data transfer across the buffer space in the first and second modes. Thus, the bus bridge enables communications between dissimilar processor buses while increasing performance and reducing CPU overhead.
