An endoscopic surgical device used for minimally invasive procedures comprises a handheld component and a power control module. The handheld component consisting of a handle, and a conduit houses a wireless imaging module and a single LED light source. The imaging module comprises a wired or wireless camera coupled to an optically folded assembly or imaging assembly. A battery-operated power module can control both the intensity of the LED and the camera action. The handle and conduit are designed to accommodate surgical tools, wherein the imaging model is parallel offset to the tool, or the tool are parallel offset to the imaging. In alternative embodiments, the handheld component is self-contained.

Wireless endoscopic surgical device

A method including introducing a treatment agent at a treatment site within a mammalian host; and introducing a bioerodable gel material at the treatment site. An apparatus including a first annular member having a first lumen disposed about a length of the first annular member and a first entry port at a proximal end of the first annular member, and a second annular member coupled to the first annular member having a second lumen disposed about a length of the second annular member and a second entry port at a proximal end of the second annular member, wherein the first annular member and the second annular member are positioned to allow a combining of treatment agents introduced through each annular member at the treatment site.

An implantable device such as a lead is adapted for implantation on or about the heart and for connection to a system for monitoring or stimulating cardiac activity. The implantable device includes an active fixation assembly for securing the device to tissue. The active fixation assembly includes one or more recessed portions therein.

Active fixation assembly for an implantable device

A catheter assembly having a balloon disposed at the distal end thereof and a therapeutic substance delivery assembly, including a needle in fluid communication with a therapeutic substance delivery lumen for allowing a therapeutic substance to be injected into a diseased physiological lumen. A deflector is positioned along an inside wall of the delivery lumen, positioned, such that as a bend region forms caused by the movement of the delivery lumen, the deflector bends to rest on the outside curvature of the bend. As the needle is made to travel through the bend, the ribbon helps to bounce the needle tip off the wall of the delivery lumen, allowing the needle to travel through the bend without digging into and/or gouging the delivery lumen wall.

An optical fiber device for forming channels within a wall of a patient's heart, and particularly the epicardium, which has an elongated optical fiber, a probe tip secured to the distal end of the optical fiber and an outer support tube secured to the proximal portion of the probe tip and a distal portion of the optical fiber proximal to the probe tip. A handle is described for a flexible optical fiber device which greatly facilitates delivery of the distal end of the optical fiber device to a desired location on the exterior of a patient's heart.

Optical fiber for myocardial channel formation

An optical fiber device for forming channels within a wall of a patient's heart, and particularly the epicardium, which has an elongated optical fiber, a probe tip secured to the distal end of the optical fiber and an outer support tube secured to the proximal portion of the probe tip and a distal portion of the optical fiber proximal to the probe tip. In another embodiment the optical fiber device has an elongated optical fiber, a probe tip secured to the distal end of the optical fiber and a radiating step or projection on the exterior of the probe tip to act as a stopping surface to control the depth of penetration of the probe tip into tissue.

A fixed-wire dilatation catheter for angioplasty procedures which has an inflated balloon on the distal end with little or no tendency to wrap on itself when the catheter is advanced through a patient's vascular system. The catheter comprises an elongated torquable shaft which is longitudinally relatively flexible but diametrically relatively rigid, a guide extension secured to the distal end of the elongated torquable shaft, and a balloon assembly which is mounted about the distal section of the torquable shaft and the guide member so that the balloon assembly is free to rotate about the torquable shaft and guide member and thereby avoid balloon wrapping. An elongated flexible member such as a helical coil is secured to the portion of the guide member which extends distally of the balloon.
