There is provided an elevated light fixture that includes a frangible coupling designed to secure the fixture to the ground, a housing designed to be affixed to the frangible coupling and house and/or support additional features of the light fixture, a cap to lock the globe atop the housing by engaging a component of the housing or a support component that is affixed to the housing, lighting components designed to emit light such as an LED as well as a lens designed to sit atop the housing when assembled that is transparent or translucent to allow light from the lighting components to pass through, electronic components designed to deliver electricity to the lighting components such as a circuit card and a power cord, and support components that support the lighting and/or electrical components such as a parts retainer flange.

A support coupling which provides a frangible point for a lighting fixture, and which prevents water from accumulating at the frangible point and from penetrating an inner chamber of the lighting fixture where electronic components are disposed includes an inner wall and an outer wall. The inner wall has a higher grade (i.e., is taller) than the outer wall. A space between the inner wall and the outer wall receives an extension column. Water running down the sides of the extension column is collected in the space and pours out of the coupling over the shorter outer wall before the water reaches the top of the inner wall.

A light fixture is provided with a heating element. The heating element can be a resistive heating element, such as a Nichrome wire, and resides in grooves of a cover (e.g., a glass globe) of the light fixture. Thus, the heating element acts to directly heat the cover of the light fixture to prevent, decrease, or otherwise correct frosting, freezing, and other elemental effects on the cover when it is exposed to the environment. The heating element is capable of raising the temperature of the cover at least 15&#xb0; C. from an initial temperature of &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. in 30 minutes. A heat sensing element may provide feedback regarding the temperature of the cover for controlling power supplied to the heating element.

The present disclosure provides a globe clamp with integrated mounting pads which can hold a level while a user adjusts the lighting device to which the globe clamp is coupled. In one example embodiment, the globe clamp includes a clamp body, which includes a top portion, a bottom portion, and an exterior contour. The top portion forms a first internal opening defined by a first inner surface. The bottom portion forms a second internal opening defined by a second inner surface. The exterior contour surrounds the top portion and the bottom portion. The exterior contour comprises at least one recess having a horizontal, flat surface, the recess configured to retain a level.

A light-emitting diode (LED) airfield guidance sign is disclosed herein. The sign can include a waveguide having a first face and a first fastening mechanism disposed on a first outer perimeter of the waveguide adjacent to the first face. The sign can also include a front panel coupled to the first outer perimeter adjacent to the first face of the waveguide. The sign can further include at least one first LED array disposed adjacent to an edge of a plurality of edges of the waveguide, where the edge of the waveguide is substantially orthogonal to the first face of the waveguide. The sign can also include a pair of side frame supports that secures two opposing edges of the plurality of edges of the waveguide and the front panel. The sign can further include a power source that provides power to the at least one first LED array.

A mounting system for a light source. The mounting system can include a first portion having a light source coupling feature and a first vertical adjustment feature, where the first vertical adjustment feature includes first fastening features. The mounting system can also include a second portion mechanically coupled to the first portion, where the second portion includes a second vertical adjustment feature having second fastening features, where the second fastening features are mechanically coupled to the first fastening features. The mounting system can further include a horizontal adjustment feature disposed at a bottom end of the second portion and mechanically coupled to the second portion. The mounting system can also include a mounting feature mechanically coupled to the horizontal adjustment feature and configured to mechanically couple to a mounting device. The mounting system can further include a guarding device disposed on a top end of the second portion.

Mounting system for airfield guard light

An in-pavement airport lighting fixture includes a housing, a feed-through assembly, and a threaded bolt that extends through the housing to secure the housing to a base unit. The feed-through assembly carries a lamp and positions the lamp in the housing. The threaded bolt is coupled to the housing such that the housing is lifted by upward motion of the bolt as the bolt is disengaged from the base unit. The housing further includes at least one boss and the feed-through assembly includes a connector surrounding an upper portion of the feed-through assembly. The connector mates with an outer surface of the boss when the upper portion of the feed-through assembly is positioned against an inside surface of the boss.
