Methods and systems for distinguishing between radar signals and Wi-Fi signals are provided. When a set of electromagnetic signals are received, various tests are performed on the signals to determine if the signals are associated with radar pulses or if the signals are more likely to be associated with stray Wi-Fi signals or other non-radar interference. One such test relies on the relatively small variance of frequencies used by radar pulses when compared to the high variation of Wi-Fi signals. Another test relies on the relatively low peak to average power ratio of signals associated with radar pulses when compared to Wi-Fi signals. The tests described herein are an improvement on existing methods for distinguishing radar signals from Wi-Fi signals and result in less switching of Wi-Fi channels due to erroneously detected radar signals.

Systems and methods for reducing false radar detection

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for an integrated Wi-Fi Access Point and cellular network Radio Unit (RU) include a communication system interfacing with a wired network for communicating Wi-Fi traffic and cellular network traffic, the communication system integrating a Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) with a cellular network Radio Unit (RU). The Wi-Fi traffic and cellular network traffic can be processed in the communication system. The communication system can interface with at least one programmable Radio Frequency (RF) front end configured for wireless communication over one or more frequency bands for Wi-Fi traffic and one or more frequency bands for cellular network traffic (e.g., 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi).

Integration of a Wi-Fi access point with a cellular radio unit

Access Point (AP) placement using Fine Time Measurement (FTM) may be provided. First, a plurality of Time-of-Flight (ToF) values between a first service end point and a second service end point may be determined. Each one of the plurality of ToF values may be derived from packets transmitted via different beamforming vector patterns at the first service end point and the second service end point. Then a minimum ToF value of the plurality of ToF values may be determined. Next, a distance between the first service end point and the second service end point may be determined based on the minimum ToF value.

Access Point (AP) placement using Fine Time Measurement (FTM)

A method and system for providing location services at a network edge is described. An AP can receive location information associated with a second AP in a location group. The AP can also receive client location data from the second AP and associated with a first client. From at least the received client location data, the AP can determine a location of the first client. The AP can then send the location of the first client to a location service.

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a plurality of radio frequency chains at a wireless device in a block based modulation environment, recording subcarrier phases and differences between the subcarrier phases, and using the subcarrier phase differences to construct a feature vector for use in angle of arrival calculated positioning of a mobile device.

Angle of arrival location sensing with antenna array

Embodiments herein describe performing AoA resolving to identify a plurality of AoAs corresponding to a multipath signal and then using AP voting to identify a location of the client device. AoA resolving enables an AP to identify the different angles at which a multipath signal reaches the AP. That is, due to reflections, a wireless signal transmitted by a single client device may reach the AP using multiple paths that each has their own AoA. The AP can perform AoA resolving to identify the AoAs for the different paths in a multipath signal. In one embodiment, the AoAs for two APs (or a subset of the APs) can be used to identify cross points or intersection points that represent candidate locations of the client device. A voting module can determine whether those cross points corresponds to AoAs identified by the remaining APs.

Identifying client device locations through group-based access point voting

Techniques for efficient network probing are provided. Coherence data is received from a plurality of access points (APs), where the coherence data indicates, for each respective AP of the plurality of APs, coherence bandwidth for a plurality of subcarriers. A mapping is generated indicating, for each of the plurality of APs, sets of subcarriers that can be interchangeably sounded. Two or more APs of the plurality of APs that can jointly sound a first subcarrier of the plurality of subcarriers are then identified based on the mapping, and the first subcarrier is allocated to the identified two or more APs for future sounding.

Offloading of location computation from a location server to an access point through the use of projections on base phase vectors may be provided. First, an Access Point (AP) may receive a set of two or more base phase vectors from a location server. Next, the AP may measure a measured phase vector for a first signal from a user device. Then, the AP can determine projection values based on a comparison of the measured phase vector to each base phase vector. From these comparisons, the AP can determine a subset of base phase vectors with the highest projection values. The AP can then send the projection values and the subset of base phase vectors to the location server, wherein the location server determines the device location from these projection values and subset of base phase vectors.

An electronically a steerable and switchable antenna array is provided that can produce a first beam with a first coverage range and a second beam with a second coverage range by selecting one of a first and a second beamwidth for both the first and second beams; in response to selecting the first beamwidth: switching signal inputs to narrow-beam antenna arrays; steering the first beam to one of a first positive, negative, or zero offset position; independently steering the second beam to one of a second positive, negative offset, or zero offset position; and transmitting signals received from the signal inputs via the first beam and the second beam; and in response to selecting the second beamwidth: switching signal inputs to wide-beam antenna arrays; and transmitting signals received from the signal inputs via the first beam and the second beam.

In an example embodiment disclosed herein there is described a multi-radio device which comprises a first radio that first radio comprises a transmitter, and a second radio that second radio comprises a receiver that monitors a channel to obtain data representative of a predefined channel parameter. The second radio is operable to receive a signal from the first radio that indicates when the transmitter of the first radio is transmitting. The receiver of the second radio selectively excludes data representative of a predefined channel parameter based on whether the transmitter of the first radio is transmitting.
