A method of manufacturing a patient interface for sealed delivery of a flow of air at a continuously positive pressure with respect to ambient air pressure to an entrance to the patient's airways includes collecting anthropometric data of a patient's face. Anticipated considerations are identified from the collected anthropometric data during use of the patient interface. The collected anthropometric data is processed to provide a transformed data set based on the anticipated considerations, the transformed data set corresponding to at least one customised patient interface component. At least one patient interface component is modelled based on the transformed data set.

Custom patient interface and methods for making same

A personal entertainment respiratory apparatus provides air to a user to provide a fully immersive entertainment experience. The personal entertainment system may comprise a flow generator for providing the flow of air. A personal spatial respiratory interface may be coupled to the flow generator. The personal spatial respiratory interface may comprise an outlet for the flow generator. The personal spatial respiratory interface may further be configured to direct the flow of air within an ambient breathing proximity of a user. The personal entertainment respiratory apparatus may further comprise a controller and a sensory particle dispenser. The controller and sensory particle dispenser may be configured to selectively activate release of a sensory particle from the dispenser into the directed flow of air in response to an entertainment triggering signal.

Wearable device for delivering air

A mask apparatus for a respiratory treatment can permit delivery of breathable gas to a user. In one example, the mask may employ a frame and cushion to form a seal for both mouth and nose. The frame may be adapted for coupling with a respiratory treatment apparatus so as to permit communication of a pressurized gas from the respiratory treatment apparatus. The cushion, which may be foam, may have a substantially under the nose configuration or over the nose configuration. The mask may have a common plenum chamber for both nose and mouth. The cushion may further define a centrally open lip superior region. The cushion may be adapted to couple with the frame directly or to the frame in conjunction with a cushion support clip. Various features of the cushion may further promote sealing and comfort for the under the nose design.

Respiratory apparatus

Components for a respiratory treatment apparatus that is capable of providing a humidified respiratory treatment permit a reduction in condensation in a patient interface and/or its gas delivery tubing. In some embodiments, a rainout valve that may be an integrated component of a humidifier output aperture, or coupled thereto, may reduce condensation with a vapor barrier operable to selectively block and permit humidified gas transfer from the humidifier. For example, the barrier may be operable to open in response to a flow of pressurized breathable gas that may be generated by a flow generator of the respiratory treatment apparatus. In the absence of such a generation of pressurized flow, the barrier may prevent a transfer of the humidified gas such as into a conduit for a patient interface by retracting to a closed position. Example vapor barriers may include a resilient membrane, cover, bellows, flap, shutter or other suitable valve.

Methods and apparatus for preventing rainout

An exchanger conduit permits temperature and/or humidity conditioning of a gas for a patient respiratory interface. In an example embodiment, a conduit has a first channel and a second channel where the first channel is configured to conduct an inspiratory gas and the second channel configured to conduct an expiratory gas. An exchanger is positioned along the first channel and the second channel to separate the first channel and the second channel. The exchanger is configured to transfer a component (e.g., temperature or humidity) of the gas of the second channel to the gas of the first channel. In some embodiments, an optional flow resistor may be implemented to permit venting at pressures above atmospheric pressure so as to allow pressure stenting of a patient respiratory system without a substantial direct flow from a flow generator of respiratory treatment apparatus to the patient during patient expiration.

Exchanger assembly for respiratory treatment

A device () provides respiratory treatment for SDB (including mild OSA) and other respiratory conditions. A flow generator warms and humidifies gas at controlled flow levels. For example, the device () delivers breathable gas to the upper airway at flow rates of about 10-35 Liters/minute. Levels of flow rate, temperature and/or humidification of the device may be automatically adjusted in response to the detection of SDB events. The device may also automatically deliver adjustments of any of the levels in accordance with detected phases of respiratory cycles. In some embodiments, the device automatically delivers distinct levels to either of the nares based on independent control of flow to each nare. A warm-up procedure controls temperature and humidity at a desired target during a ramp-up of flow to the set therapy level. A cool-down procedure controls temperature above the dewpoint to avoid condensation internal to the device and patient interface.

Treatment of respiratory conditions

A respiratory apparatus is configured to deliver breathable gas to a patient's airways and includes a flow generator configured to pressurize the breathable gas and a humidifier configured to vaporize water and deliver water vapor to humidify the breathable gas. The respiratory apparatus further includes a gas flow path leading from the flow generator to the humidifier and from the humidifier to a patient interface. A continuous heater is positioned within the gas flow path and includes multiple separately controllable heating zones.

Humidifier for respiratory apparatus

A gas conduit for respiratory apparatus includes a lumen for passage of a breathable gas to a patient and a flexible conduit wall surrounding the lumen. The flexible conduit wall has a humidification apparatus for delivering water vapour into the gas passing through the lumen.

Humidification arrangement for a respiratory apparatus

A patient interface assembly includes a flexible cushion configured to sealingly engage the patient's nares and a frame with a pair of flexible extending members that extend laterally from opposite sides of the frame. The frame and the flexible cushion together form a chamber. The patient interface assembly also includes a positioning and stabilising structure configured to maintain the flexible cushion in engagement with the patient's nares. The positioning and stabilizing structure has a pair of headgear straps. Each headgear strap is connected to a respective one of the flexible extending members. The flexible extending members do not form an airflow path for the breathable gas. The headgear straps have a multi-layered structure, at least one layer being made of fabric and at least one layer being made of plastic. In addition, the at least one plastic layer is a rigidizer that adds rigidity to the respective headgear strap.

A heated conduit is configured to be connected to and receive pressurized breathable gas from a respiratory unit. The heated conduit includes a first cuff configured to be attached to the respiratory unit, the first cuff comprising a tubular air inlet portion that is configured to receive the pressurized breathable gas and an electrical connector portion that is adjacent to the tubular air inlet portion and comprises three electrical terminals. The three electrical terminals are configured to engage an electrical connector of the respiratory unit. A grouping of wires are supported within a helical rib of a flexible tube portion. The grouping of wires includes a pair of heating wires configured to generate heat and a signal wire configured to carry the signal that is output by a sensing device. Each of the heating wires and the signal wire is connected to a corresponding one of the three electrical terminals of the electrical connector portion of the first cuff.
