A wellbore assembly includes a conveyance member including at least one of a continuous spooled rod, a wireline, and a slickline; an accumulator system connected to the conveyance member; and a setting tool connected to the accumulator system. The accumulator system may be configured to supply a fluid pressure to actuate the setting tool. A method of operating a wellbore tool includes lowering a wellbore assembly into a wellbore using a conveyance member including at least one of a continuous spooled rod, a wireline, and a slickline, wherein the wellbore assembly includes an accumulator system and a setting tool. The method includes actuating the accumulator system to provide a fluid pressure to the setting tool. The method also includes actuating the setting tool using the fluid pressure.

A method and apparatus for a wellbore assembly. A neutron logging tool has multiple detectors spaced about the circumference of the tool. The detectors are shielded from each other such that each detector detects gamma rays from the area of the borehole and formation to which it is closest. The log readings from each detector can be associated with the orientation of that detector. The orientation-specific log readings can then be aggregated to form an azimuthal log which can be used to analyze pre-fractured and/or post-fractured formations.

A method of flow testing multiple zones in a wellbore includes lowering a tool string into the wellbore. The tool string includes an inflatable packer or plug and an electric pump. The method further includes operating the pump, thereby inflating the packer or plug and isolating a first zone from one or more other zones; monitoring flow from the first zone; deflating the packer or plug; moving the tool string in the wellbore; and operating the pump, thereby inflating the packer or plug and isolating a second zone from one or more other zones; and monitoring flow from the second zone. The zones are monitored in one trip.

Apparatus and methods of flow testing formation zones

Methods and apparatus for flow testing multiple zones in a single trip are provided. In one embodiment, a method of flow testing multiple zones in a wellbore includes lowering a tool string into the wellbore. The tool string includes an inflatable packer or plug and an electric pump. The method further includes operating the pump, thereby inflating the packer or plug and isolating a first zone from one or more other zones; monitoring flow from the first zone; deflating the packer or plug; moving the tool string in the wellbore; and operating the pump, thereby inflating the packer or plug and isolating a second zone from one or more other zones; and monitoring flow from the second zone. The zones are monitored in one trip.

The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and a method for conveying and operating tools into a wellbore. In one aspect, a method of performing a downhole operation in a wellbore is provided. The method includes pushing a continuous rod into the wellbore, wherein the continuous rod includes a member disposed therein. The method further includes positioning the continuous rod proximate at a predetermined location in the wellbore and performing the downhole operation. In yet another aspect, a system for performing a downhole operation in a wellbore is provided.

Methods and apparatus for detonating explosives or igniting flammables are disclosed. According to some embodiments of the invention, initiators include an initiating component holding an exploding bridgewire (EBW) or an exploding foil initiator (EFI) and a flammable component housing thermite. An end of the flammable component mates with a corresponding end of the initiating component. A method of initiating the explosives or flammables includes connecting the two components to assemble the initiator, disposing the initiator proximate the explosives or flammables, and activating the initiator to cause ignition of the thermite that then initiates the explosives or flammables. Additionally, a non-explosive kit for the initiator includes the two components with the EBW or EFI initially spaced from the thermite within the flammable component to make the initiator disarmed until final assembly thereof. Cutting torches and perforating guns provide examples of downhole tools that benefit from aspects of the invention.

An apparatus, method, and system for use in operating an electric downhole tool on a non-conductive support line (slickline) by converting a battery voltage to an output voltage suitable for operating the tool. In response to receiving a trigger signal, the output voltage signal is applied to the tool. The tool is controlled by varying the output voltage signal according to a power control sequence. Accordingly, electric tools typically requiring surface intervention by an operator via an electric cable (wireline) may be operated on slickline.

Embodiments of the present invention generally provide a method, apparatus, and system for monitoring conditions in wellbore in real time prior to setting an inflatable element in the wellbore. The inflatable element is inflated with an inflation tool run on a cable with one or more electrically conductive wires (the cable is commonly referred to as a 'wireline'). One or more sensors, internal or external to the inflation tool, are monitored before setting the inflatable element to verify well conditions are compatible with the inflatable element. The sensors may be internal or external to the inflation tool.

The present invention involves a pack-off system for use in packing off an area of interest within a wellbore. The pack-off system comprises at least two packing elements disposed on a tubular body. The packing elements of the present invention comprise overlapping leaves which are pivotally mounted on the tubular body. The present invention further involves a method for using the pack-off system, wherein the packing elements are placed adjacent to an area of interest within a wellbore. The overlapping leaves of the packing elements are extended radially to effectively obstruct fluid flow in the annular space between the outermost portions of the packing elements and the wellbore. The bulk of the fluid introduced into the wellbore is trapped between the packing elements and is thereby forced into the area of interest.
