An apparatus for separating a liquid from other substances comprises a first chamber; a second chamber; an inlet connected to the first chamber; an outlet connected to the second chamber; a bypass conduit passing from the inlet, through the first chamber, and into the second chamber; a passage between the first and second chambers and configured to allow the liquid to flow from the first chamber to the second chamber, the passage below the bypass conduit; wherein the bypass conduit comprises a first opening within the first chamber and a second opening in the second chamber; and wherein the bypass conduit is angled relative to a horizontal so that a lowest region of the second opening is higher, in relation to the horizontal, than a highest region of the first opening, such that liquid flow into the inlet, less than a treatment flow rate, flows entirely through the first opening.

Apparatus and method for separating a liquid from other substances

The present invention relates generally to purification and separation of a fluid flow stream, and more particularly, to a separation system including a device for dispersing the fluid flow and separating pollutants there from. The device includes a vertical screen and baffle wall positioned in a fluid flow stream between the inlet and outlet openings of a chamber. The chamber can include a sump for collecting and storing sediment that is separated from the fluid. The present invention also relates to a method of purifying and separating a fluid flow stream.

Purification and separation system for a fluid flow stream

An apparatus for separating floating and non-floating particulates from drain water wherein said apparatus includes a first chamber for collecting non-floating particulates, a second chamber for collecting floating particulates, and a third chamber through which treated drain water can be discharged from the apparatus. An inlet pipe for introducing drain water into the first chamber is provided tangential to the first chamber to provide a vortex flow of drain water into said first chamber. An outlet pipe providing flow of drain water from the first chamber to the second chamber has an inlet at the vortex of drain water flow in the first chamber and an outlet that is spaced a predetermined distance from the floor of the chamber.

Stormwater treatment system

A method for making insulated pre-formed wall panels for attachment to like insulated pre-formed wall panels for building a wall. The method includes providing a mold for casting a concrete body having a generally planar portion with a plurality of rib portions extending therefrom, nesting at least one insulation strip within a respective spring member, covering the end portions of the respective spring member with a thermally insulating material to limit thermal conductivity from each respective rib portion of the concrete body to each respective spring member, inserting each respective spring member with the at least one nested insulation strip in the mold, and casting the concrete body in the mold with each respective spring member with the at least one insulation strip being unitarily attached to an edge portion of each respective rib portion with the end portion of each respective spring member being anchored in each respective rib portion of the concrete body to make the insulated pre-formed wall panel. The spring member serves as a nailer strip for the insulated pre-formed wall panel.

Method for making insulated pre-formed wall panels for attachment to like insulated pre-formed wall panels

A method of forming a prefabricated insulated wall panel for installation with like wall panels for easily and inexpensively building a wall. The method includes the steps of providing a mold for casting a concrete member having a generally planar portion including an inner surface and an outer surface and a plurality of rib portions extending from the inner surface to an edge, nesting at least one insulation strip within a respective spring member so that the spring member extends about sides of the insulation strip and terminates in end portions which extend inwardly relative to the insulation strip sides, selecting the spring member to be biased against respective walls of a mold portion corresponding to a rib portion of the concrete member when the nested insulation strip is inserted therein, inserting the nested insulation strip in the mold portion, and casting the concrete member in the mold with the insulation strip and the spring member unitarily attached to a rib portion edge of the concrete member with the end portions of the spring member anchored in the concrete member to make a wall panel.

Method of forming a prefabricated wall panel

A prefabricated insulated wall panel for installation with like wall panels for easily and inexpensively building a wall. The wall panel is a unitary combination of (1) a member having a planar portion and a plurality of spaced rib portions integral therewith and extending therefrom for receiving insulation therebetween, (2) insulating material attached to edges of the rib portions for reducing thermal conductivity from the rib portions to wallboard attached to the wall panel, and (3) a nailer for attachment of wallboard.

Insulated pre-formed wall panels

An emergency motor vehicle tire traction improving device for attachment or mounting to a conventional motor vehicle tire is made substantially totally of multi-strand polymeric plastic rope and includes three or more separate lengths of the rope connected together in a pattern that defines a ladder having inside and outside parallel, coextensive runners and a plurality of transverse rungs connecting corresponding points of the runners, whereby the device is mounted to the tire by drapping it over the tire with the runners parallel with the direction of rotation of the tire and the rungs across the tire treads, with one end of each runner connected to the other end thereof and an elastic device attached to one of the runners pulling that runner uniformly toward the axis of the tire. When so mounted to the tire, the tire traction, particularly on ice and snow, is improved. All embodiments of the tire traction device are comprised of three or more separate lengths of the polymeric rope: one length provides one runner, another length provides the other runner and one or more other lengths provide the rungs that are threaded to the runners.
