An exemplary auxiliary trim locking module is configured for use with a handle including a shank. The handle is mounted for rotation relative to a rose having an aperture defined therein. The auxiliary trim locking module includes a collar defining an opening sized and shaped to receive the shank, a blocking member movably mounted to the collar for movement between a proximal position and a distal position, and a biasing mechanism urging the locking member toward the distal position. The blocking member includes a projection sized and shaped to be received in the aperture, and an arm operable to be manually engaged by a user to shift the blocking member between a proximal position and a distal position.

Auxiliary trim locking module

An exemplary handle assembly including a handle and a coupling mechanism. The handle includes a shank and a manually graspable portion extending from the shank. The coupling mechanism includes a coupling member and a cam sleeve. The coupling member is mounted to the shank for movement between a coupling position and a decoupling position. The cam sleeve is movably mounted to the shank and covers the coupling member. A radially-inner portion of the cam sleeve includes a cam surface operable to engage the coupling member. The cam surface is configured to drive the coupling member from the decoupling position to the coupling position as the cam sleeve is displaced from a home position to a displaced position.

Child-resistant door handle

An exemplary knob assembly includes a knob having a circumferential channel, and a deformable ring seated in the circumferential channel. The ring is normally rotatable relative to the knob such that rotation of the ring does not cause a corresponding rotation of the knob. When gripped with a sufficient gripping force, the ring frictionally engages and rotationally couples with the knob, thereby permitting transmission of torque between the ring and the knob. In certain embodiments, the knob assembly may include a detent mechanism operable to selectively couple the ring and the knob. In certain embodiments, the ring may include protrusions operable to engage pockets in the knob to provide for rotational coupling.
