A swivel up package for a deodorant or antiperspirant having specialized sealing which prevents leakage of product, in either its molten or volatile state, during manufacture, shipment and storage by containing all of the product within or above the elevator. The preferred package has a body of an oval or circular cross-section with an open top and a closed bottom. The bottom has a centralized aperture adapted to receive a spindle having a screw shaft disposed within the body and a dial or handwheel disposed outside the body. Also disposed within the body of the package is the elevator having a threaded central hub that is in engagement with the screw shaft. The periphery of the elevator is sealed along the internal surface of the body of the package. Further sealing is provided between the hub/threaded shaft interface when the elevator is in its lowermost position. The elevator has a reservoir to receive molten product during the fill process. The seals are such that flow of air and molten product to the reservoirs is possible only through the top of the package. The volumetric capacity is at least as great as the volume intermediate the fill line of the package, filled in its upright condition with the product in a molten or liquid form, and the inner surface of a forming means used to shape the top of the product. There is also provided a fill/invert process for manufacturing a cosmetic stick-type product using the package described above.

A hanger system for a container is described as comprising the combination of a container having side and bottom walls and a top wall including a dispensing outlet, wherein the bottom wall has a concave portion. A hanger attachment lug is located and fully contained within the concave portion of the bottom wall of the container, and the attachment lug includes a shaft portion which is substantially circular in cross-section and a retention flange extending outwardly from the distal end of the shaft portion. A detachable hanger member includes an attachment clip formed adjacent its lower portion adapted to engage the shaft portion of the attachment lug to detachably and rotatably attach the hanger member to the container. The hanger member includes an upper hook portion which extends upwardly from the attachment clip and is adapted to suspend the container in inverted condition. The hanger member is attachable to the attachment lug from any direction about the periphery of such lug, and, following attachment, is rotatable a full 360.degree. thereabout. The hanger system provides a versatile means of suspending a container in inverted condition from a variety of support structures without impeding conventional manufacturing, shipping and handling characteristics for such container.

Hanger system for a container

A dispensing container for solid stick-type products is described which is adapted to be bottom filled with molten solid stick-type product while in a completely assembled condition. The dispensing container includes a substantially tubular container body having an open upper end and a base member with an aperture formed therethrough mounted in its lower end. A cup-shaped closure cap telescopes over the upper end of the dispensing container. A threaded follower having an at least partially open skeletal structure adapted to permit axial flow of molten solid-stick product therethrough during filling operations is slidably and non-rotatably disposed within the container body for axial movement therewithin. Means are provided to manually vary the axial position of the follower within the container body, with those varying means including an externally threaded screw stem having cooperative engagement with the follower, rotating means disposed on the lower exterior of the container body and extending into the container body through the aperture formed in the base member, and skeletal structured mounting means attaching the screw stem to the rotating means thereby permitting axial flow of molten solid-stick product therethrough during filling operations. The rotating means is also formed with a bore providing fluid communication from the exterior to the interior of the container body. The fully assembled dispensing container can be bottom filled with molten product and requires no further assembly or closure thereafter.

Dispensing container for stick-solids

A dispensing cartridge or other similar container having a piston-type closure at one end and an apertured dispensing wall at its other end which may be covered by a cover or cap. The piston-type closure is a rigid structure which includes a sealing ring to engage the container sidewall, a centrally-located filling aperture and a integrally-molded, detachable plug that is aligned to the aperture and adapted to be forced into the aperture to close and seal the container after filling. The plug is attached to the piston closure by several frangible elements and the container is filled via the gaps formed between these elements.

A collapsible co-dispensing tubular container for separately storing and co-dispensing two extrusible product components of substantially equal viscosity with substantially constant proportionation. The container may comprise a collapsible tubular body, a head fitment having two discharge ports which fitment is sealingly secured in one end of the collapsible body, and a longitudinally extending interior bulkhead disposed to partition the interior of the container into two compartments, one of which compartments is in fluid communication with one of the discharge ports, and the other of the compartments being in fluid communication with the other of the discharge ports. The improvement comprises a pressure responsive moveable septum disposed adjacent the head end of the container and which septum is in fluid communication with both of the compartments in the container. The pressure responsive moveable septum precipitates equalization of the pressures on the separately stored product components upon squeezing or otherwise collapsing the container which pressure equalization effects substantially constant proportionation of the product components as they are co-dispensed from the container.

Collapsible co-dispensing tubular container

Hand-held, generally T-shaped product applicators and a dispensing package for a stack thereof. Each applicator comprises a body portion and a handle portion. The body portion is dish-shaped with a convex bottom surface and a concave top surface. The bottom surface may be used directly to apply a product, or it may be provided with a product-applying facing. The handle portion is hollow and constitutes an integral, one-piece part of the body portion, extending upwardly from the top surface thereof. The hollow handle portion is open at the bottom surface of the body portion and closed at its top with upwardly and inwardly sloping edges and upwardly and inwardly sloping sides providing finger-grip surfaces. The handle portion of each applicator is so sized that the applicators may be stacked one above the other with their handle portions in telescoped relationship and the product applying facing of each applicator in spac ed relationship to the upper body portion surface of the applicator therebelow in the stack. The dispensing package is configured to receive a stack of applicators. The package has a dispensing opening at one end thereof through which the handle portion of the endmost applicator of the stack is exposed for removal therefrom. The opening is configured to release the applicators one at a time. Means are provided within the package to advance the stack of applicators toward the dispensing opening, as the applicators are removed therefrom.
