The request can include off-route information indicating that the user is willing to visit points of interest not directly along the mapped route. That is, points of interests that may not necessarily be close to the user's mapped route but may be of high interest to the user can be presented or suggested to the user to enhance the user's travel experience or trip. The points of interest suggested can be selected based on respective relevancy scores representing a level of relevancy to a user interest. The suggested points of interest can be ranked based on the relevancy factors. The suggested point of interest displayed to the user can also be limited to those having a relevancy factor that meets a predetermined threshold.

Suggesting points of interest on a mapped route using user interests

Various embodiments enable a user to navigate within an application where features of the navigation vary depending on a context of the user or particular features of the application. For example, a user could request directions, in a turn-by-turn mode of the computing device, to a destination. Accordingly, mapping information for a region and a route to the destination through the region can be displayed. Along with the mapping information, a navigation element can be displayed that enables the user to navigate through the mapping information. In one example, the navigation element is displayed off-center from the mapping information such that it does not obscure the mapping information while the user provides touch inputs to navigate within the same.

Various embodiments enable a user to capture image information with one or more cameras of a computing device for generating a three-dimensional model of an object and further to enable subsequent users to refine the model by submitting additional image information. For example, an ecommerce service could receive image information from a user for a product offered for sale that was captured with a computing device. With the image information, the service can generate a three-dimensional model of the product and provide the model for display through a website for customers interested in the product to view.
