Some embodiments concern a lens for protection of one or more eyes of a user. The lens can include: a first surface; and a second surface spaced apart from the first surface such that the lens has a variable thickness between the first surface and the second surface. The first surface can include substantially an arc. The second surface can include a substantially elliptical curve and the lens can be a smooth, arcuate, substantially plano lens. A family of eye protectors for use with a variety of shapes and sizes of heads includes a plurality of different lenses with each lens having a selected curvature and selected height and profile parameters; and a manually adjustable nose engaging element carried on each lens. The nose engaging element can include a substantially U-shaped frame which has first and second deflectable, spaced apart members joined by a third member. A plurality of identical mounting elements can be proved wherein each mounting element holds one of said plurality of different lenses.

An eyewear comprising a frame with lens and temples mounted to the frame. Each of the temples comprises a branch having a proximal end, a distal end and an internal wall defining an aperture extending longitudinally along the branch. The internal wall has a first curved portion with a first curvature, the first curved portion being made of a flexible material. Each of the temples further comprises a member slidably moveable in the aperture, the member having a second curved portion with a second curvature, the second curved portion registering with the first curved portion, the second curvature being greater than the first curvature such that movement of the member along the aperture and towards the distal end of the branch displaces the branch from a first position in which a first pressure is applied to a side of a wearer's head to a second position in which a second pressure is applied to the side of the wearer's head, the second pressure being greater than the first pressure.

Eyewear with adjustable temples

An eyewear having a frame with lens and temples. Each of the temples comprises a first member having proximate and distal ends, the proximate end being pivotably mounted to the frame about a first axis such that the first member is movable from open and closed positions. The distal end comprises a first portion made of a first material. Each of the temples further comprises a second member extending along a second axis from a proximate end to a distal end, the second axis intersecting the first axis, wherein the proximate end of the second member comprises a second portion made of a second material. Moreover, one of the first and second portions is overmolded onto the other of the first and second portions for affixing together the first and second portions. In addition, the second material is different from and incompatible with the first material such that the second member is pivotable relative to the first member about a third axis intersecting the second axis.

Eyewear with pivotable temples

The present invention generally relates to stabilization straps, and is more specifically concerned with a helmet stabilization strap apparatus. The stabilization strap apparatus provides connectors so configured and sized as to be mountable on the helmet, and each include a first pivotal interconnecting element and a first interlocking element. The stabilization strap apparatus further includes a strap member having ends connectable to a respective connector. Each of the ends includes a second pivotal interconnecting element and a second interlocking element, such that the second pivotal interconnecting element is mountable in a pivotal connection to the first pivotal interconnecting element and the second interlocking element matingly corresponds to the first interlocking element. Each ends of the strap member is pivotable around the pivotal connection and lockable at various strap positions with respect to the connectors when the second interlocking element engages the first interlocking element.

Adjustable stabilization strap apparatus

The present invention relates to attachments for releasably securing a transparent shield to a wire grid face protector and the wire grid face protector to a helmet. The attachments comprise a clip and a bracket. The clip comprises a retaining body adapted to be secured to the wire grid face protector at a predetermined location and on opposed sides of a sight opening of the wire grid face protector. The retaining body has a guide slot adapted to receive an attachment flange of the transparent shield, and an opening formed in an outer wall thereof configured to receive in abutting engagement a resilient, outwardly inclined tongue of the attachment flange. The bracket comprises a body having a groove into which a wire member of the wire grid face protector is releasably and frictionally retained.
