A user equipment (UE) is configured to receive resource allocation information associated with an uplink physical control channel, wherein the uplink physical control channel and a physical uplink shared channel have different resources. The UE is configured to send data over the physical uplink shared channel in assigned time intervals. The UE is further configured to, in a time interval that it is not sending information over the physical uplink shared channel, to send a signal over the uplink physical control channel based on the received resource allocation information, wherein the UE is further configured to transmit the signal over the uplink physical control channel between transmissions of data over the physical uplink shared channels within a frame. The UE is configured to receive feedback information from a downlink control channel.

Communications in a wireless network

A user equipment (UE) is configured to receive a control message over a physical control channel in a first of a plurality of time slots, wherein the control message has power control bits for a plurality of UEs. Further, the first of the plurality of time slots has a second downlink physical control channel and a downlink physical shared channel. The UE is further configured to transmit a signal in uplink physical channel in a second time slot to a base station having a transmission power level based on the power control bits received in the control message.

A user equipment (UE) is configured to receive a control message over a physical control channel in a first time slot, wherein the control message has power control bits for a plurality of UEs, wherein the plurality of UEs include the first UE. The UE processes the signal to decode an indication of a second bandwidth, the signal includes a primary synchronization signal and a secondary synchronization signal, wherein the first bandwidth is different than the second bandwidth. Further, the UE detect a second signal in the second bandwidth.

Synchronization in a flexible bandwidth wireless network

A user equipment (UE) is configured to receive a downlink physical control channel including a transmission parameter in a first time slot, a number of bits sent over the downlink physical control channel is based on fields of control information to be sent to the UE, wherein the first time slot also includes a downlink physical shared channel. Further, the UE is configured to transmit an uplink physical control channel in a second time slot based on the transmission parameter, wherein a plurality of UEs transmit uplink physical control channels in the second time slot.

In a wireless network, a primary synchronization signal and a secondary synchronization signal are sent at a predetermined bandwidth in a transmission. The predetermined bandwidth is a lowest operating bandwidth of the wireless network. Data is also sent in the transmission using an operating bandwidth greater than the lowest operating bandwidth.

A network device may send resource allocation information associated with a physical uplink control channel. The physical uplink control channel and a physical uplink shared channel may have different resources. The network device may receive, at times that the physical uplink shared channel is not received, control information over the physical uplink control channel in relation to the sent resource allocation information.

A user equipment (UE) may, in a time interval that it is not sending information over a physical uplink shared channel, send an uplink physical signal based on received resource allocation information. The uplink physical signal may be used to determine channel conditions by a base station. The UE may receive, on a downlink control channel, control information. A method and apparatus for transmitting data to terminal devices in a wireless telecommunications system. The data may be user-plane data associated with a repeating Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Services (MBMS) session to be transmitted using MBMS over a Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) in a network including at least one relay node supported by a donor base station. The method includes delivering the data from the base station to the relay node in advance of a scheduled transmission to terminal devices at a first time, and transmitting the data from the relay node to a terminal device at the first time. The relay node is configured to store the data in a cache. The relay node may then retrieve the data from the cache in advance of a scheduled transmission to terminal devices at a second time, and transmit the retrieved data to a terminal device at the second time.

Apparatus and method for transmission of cached data in a wireless telecommunications system

Methods and apparatus for transmitting data to terminal devices in a wireless telecommunications system. The data may be user-plane data associated with a repeating Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Services (MBMS) session to be transmitted using MBMS over a Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) in a network including at least one relay node supported by a donor base station. The scheme includes delivering the data from the base station to the relay node in advance of a scheduled transmission to terminal devices at a first time, and transmitting the data from the relay node to a terminal device at the first time. The relay node is further configured to store the data in a cache. The relay node may then retrieve the data from the cache in advance of a scheduled transmission to terminal devices at a second time, and transmit the retrieved data to a terminal device at the second time.

Telecommunications apparatus and methods

Receiving resource allocation information associated with an uplink physical control channel is disclosed. The uplink physical control channel and a physical uplink shared channel may have different resources. Data may be sent over the physical uplink shared channel in assigned time intervals. A signal may be sent over the uplink physical control channel based on the received resource allocation information in a time interval that the UE is not sending data over the physical uplink shared channel.
