An electronic device has a display and has a touch sensitive bezel surrounding the display. Areas on the bezel are designated for controls used to operate the electronic device. Visual guides corresponding to the controls are displayed on the display adjacent the areas of the bezel designated for the controls. Touch data is generated by the bezel when a user touches an area of the bezel. The device determines which of the controls has been selected based on which designated area is associated with the touch data from the bezel. The device then initiates the determined control. The device can have a sensor for determining the orientation of the device. Based on the orientation, the device can alter the areas designated on the bezel for the controls and can alter the location of the visual guides for the display so that they match the altered areas on the bezel.

Automatic control of media presentation parameters is provided by using one or more of real-time audio playback measurement data from microphones and audience facial and body expression interpretation from video and infrared cameras, in conjunction with artificial intelligence for interpretation and evaluation of facial and body expression and predetermined perceptual audio models. Media presentation parameters can include, for example, speaker volume, audio equalization, feedback elimination, play/pause, and other audio content-related aspects of presentation. In some embodiments, additional environmental parameters can be modified to enhance audience experience, such as, for example, temperature, lighting, and the like, in response to audience facial and body expression.

An integrated circuit (IC) package of an electronic device includes a first input coupled to a first voltage rail and a second input coupled to a second voltage rail. The IC package further includes a set of one or more input/output (IO) pad cells and a power sequence detector coupled to the first and second voltage rails. The power sequence detector monitors the first and second voltage rails and configures the set of one or more IO pad cells to operate at one of a non-zero first voltage level or a non-zero second voltage level depending on which of the first voltage rail and the second voltage rail ramps up to a corresponding specified voltage level first.

A semiconductor device includes a single substrate including circuitry to implement a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, an audio interface module configured to provide data in pulse-code modulation (PCM) format having a first signal to noise ratio (SNR), and a medium quality speaker module configured to receive the PCM data, convert the data from the PCM format to a pulse-width modulation (PWM) format independently of the processor, and provide the data in the PWM format having a second SNR to at least one general purpose input-output pin on the substrate, the first SNR is greater than the second SNR.
