A method for controlling unauthorized use of digital content includes identifying digital content for validation. Characterizing information is generated that designates the identified digital content, and usage rights for the identified digital content are determined based on the characterizing information, for example, based on a comparison of the characterizing information that designates the identified digital content to a plurality of characterizing information. Usage of the identified digital content may also be controlled based on the determined usage rights. Related systems, methods, devices, and computer program products are discussed.

Methods, systems and computer program products for determining usage rights for digital content based on characterizing information thereof and related devices

An electronic device may include a screen and a plurality of lights. A plurality of image frames may be provided with each image frame defining an image for display on the screen. Illumination instructions may be provided for the plurality of lights, wherein different illumination instructions are associated with different image frames and wherein each illumination instruction defines a respective illumination pattern for the plurality of lights. The images defined by the respective image frames may be displayed on the screen. While displaying a first image defined by a first image frame on the screen, a first illumination pattern for the plurality of lights may be provided with the first illumination pattern being defined by a first illumination instruction associated with the first image frame. While displaying a second image defined by a second image frame on the screen, a second illumination pattern for the plurality of lights may be provided with the second illumination pattern being defined by a second illumination instruction associated with the second image frame. Moreover, the first and second illumination patterns may be different. Related methods and computer program products are also discussed.

A method and apparatus for managing a display during a teleconference between a primary participant and one or more secondary participants is described herein. According to the present invention, a primary image corresponding to the primary participant and a subset of secondary images that correspond to secondary participants are displayed on first and second sections of the display, respectively. By scrolling through the secondary images during the teleconference, different subsets of the secondary images may be displayed. Another exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises superimposing an image over another image. By adjusting the opacity of at least one of the images, the user may view and/or access both images during the teleconference. According to another exemplary embodiment, a user may interchange the primary image with a selected one of the secondary images, responsive to user input, to focus on the selected image.

Display management during a multi-party conversation

A method of predicting user input to a mobile terminal is presented. The mobile terminal creates a raw user input data record comprised of input to the mobile terminal. A contextual data record is appended to the raw user input data record and both are stored. Another process processes the records contained in the raw user input database to identify repetitive patterns of user input. Identified patterns are stored in a recognized input pattern database. The mobile terminal then monitors current input and compares it to the repetitive patterns stored in the recognized input pattern database. Upon matching the current input to a repetitive pattern within a specified tolerance, the mobile terminal prompts the user to allow the mobile terminal to complete the process of inputting the data.

System and method of predicting user input to a mobile terminal

A Java application is debugged in a Java micro device by selectively loading from a host computer into the device, a subset of Java classes and/or Java resource files that is used during the debugging the Java application in the device, that is automatically selected from a set of Java classes and/or Java resource files in the host computer. Thus, the need to load a potentially huge Java ARchive (JAR) file that contains all classes and/or resources, at the start of debugging, can be reduced or eliminated. The invention also may be used to load modules that are used during debugging an application on a device from a host computer.

Off-device class/resource loading methods, systems and computer program products for debugging a Java application in a Java micro device

An ATM communications network includes a system processor having a device driver and a memory coupled to an adapter at an interface. Frames stored in the memory are transmitted to the network using a transmit ready queue residing in the adapter and defined by transmit control registers. The frames are linked together by descriptors and pointers to received ready lists maintained by the device driver. A transmit frame complete list is established in the system memory using the transmit control registers. An interrupt is generated by the adapter indicating when frame transmission is complete. Simultaneously, cells are received from the network and stored in system memory according to a free buffer list established by the device driver. A pointer is maintained by the device driver to the last entry of the receive free buffer list. The adapter maintains a pointer to the next buffer to be used from the receive free buffer list. A receive ready list is established by the device driver in system memory with the location indicated to the adapter via the receive control registers in the adapter. The receive data cells are reassembled into frames in buffers from the free buffer list. At completion of a received frame, the frame is added to an appropriate receive ready list. An interrupt is generated to the processor by the adapter when one or more completed frames reside on the receive ready list for transmission to the network.
