An aerial light show system includes aerial vehicles configured to move along paths consisting of positions while emitting light beams to present an aerial light show of a virtual 3D scene. Each aerial vehicle includes a light source configured to project multiple light beams in multiple specified directions, respectively, wherein the brightness and/or color of each of the multiple light beams is independently controllable. The aerial light show system includes a control system configured to control the movement of the aerial vehicles, to modify the brightness and/or color of (e.g., dim or turn off) a light beam of each aerial vehicle at each position projected in a specified direction that is occluded by the virtual 3D scene, and to not modify the brightness and/or color of a light beam of each aerial vehicle at each position projected in a specified direction that is not occluded by the virtual 3D scene.

System and method for aerial light shows with occlusion and transparency

A multi-view (MV) system with multiple MV displays utilizes state information to assign personalized versions of content to display to viewers, thereby providing a coordinated MV display experience. These systems may include a sensing system for detecting viewers and other environmental conditions, and a controller to manage the content assignments for the MV displays. The controller can manage the viewer states, viewer state transitions, and content assignment changes based on changes of those viewers and conditions. The systems can be utilized to simultaneously present coordinated and personalized content to multiple viewers of multiple MV displays.

Coordinated multi-view display experiences

A vehicle seat comprises a seat component having a contour; wherein the contour changes when at least a portion of a user's body is in contact with the seat component and at least one multibend sensor operatively connected to the seat component and adapted to at least partially conform to the contour of the seat component; the at least one multibend sensor comprising a signal generation source adapted to transmit signals and a signal receiver adapted to receive at least some of the transmitted signals. The seat further comprises a signal processor operatively connected to the signal receiver, the signal processor adapted to make at least one measurement associated with the received signals; and, a sensing module operatively connected to the signal processor and configured to use the at least one measurement to determine information regarding the contour of the seat component.

A multibend sensor comprises a reference strip having a first plurality of electrodes, wherein each of the first plurality of electrodes is adapted to receive a signal; a sliding strip having a second plurality of electrodes, wherein each of the second plurality of electrodes is adapted to transmit at least one signal, wherein the sliding strip moves with respect to the reference strip; and measurement circuitry adapted to process signals received by the first plurality of electrodes, wherein the processed signals provide information regarding the relative position of the sliding strip to the reference strip.

Multibend shape sensor

A multibend sensor is able to provide information regarding bending of the sensor data in a manner able to mitigate error propagation. A reference strip and a sliding strip are separated from each other by a spacer. Electrodes are located on the reference strip and the sliding strip. The bending of the multibend sensor will be reflected in the shifting of the sliding strip with respect to the reference strip and the measurements obtained from the electrodes. A finger may be operably connected to the reference strip, wherein the finger extends in the direction of the sliding strip, wherein movement of the reference strip with respect to the sliding strip is translated through the finger.

A system and method for simultaneously displaying, in plural spatially distinct zones via a multi-view display, differentiated content is disclosed. In accordance with the method, a plurality of spatially distinct zones are defined, differentiated content is assigned to the zones, a location for at least some of plural landing spots of beamlets projected by multi-view pixels of the multi-view display is estimated, the spatially distinct zone in which each said landing spots resides is determined, and beamlets associated with said some landing spots are driven to cause an appropriate content portion to be viewable at said some landing spots, as a function of location in a particular spatially distinct zone.

System and method for displaying location dependent content

A multi-view display system that permits viewers to individually interact therewith to communicate commands or viewing preferences is disclosed. Methods in accordance with the present teachings enable a multi-view display to deliver a unique content stream to each of plural viewers, based on the viewers' interactions with the multi-view display system, wherein the viewers are not in fixed locations.

Individually interactive multi-view display system for non-stationary viewing locations and methods therefor

A precision multi-view (MV) display system can accurately and simultaneously display different content to different viewers over a wide field of view. The MV display system may include features that enable individual MV display devices to be easily and efficiently tiled to form a larger MV display. A graphical interface enables a user to graphically specify viewing zones and associate content that will be visible in those zones in a simple manner. A calibration procedure enables the specification of content at precise viewing locations.

Differentiated content delivery system and method therefor

Pressure sensitive key techniques are described. In one or more implementations, a device includes at least one pressure sensitive key having a flexible contact layer spaced apart from a sensor substrate by a spacer layer, the flexible contact layer configured to flex responsive to pressure to contact the sensor substrate to initiate an input, for a computing device, associated with the pressure sensitive key. At least one of the flexible contact layer or the sensor substrate are configured to at least partially normalize an output resulting from pressure applied at a first location of the flexible contact layer with an output resulting from pressure applied at a second location of the flexible contact layer that has lesser flexibility than the first location.

A multi-view display system that enables viewers to individually interact with the system to provide information thereto is disclosed. The system includes a multi-view display, a system controller, and an input/communications device. In the illustrative embodiment, the input/communications device provides a way for a viewer to communicate, to the system, a viewing preference pertaining to the presentation of content and facilitates associating the viewing preference with a viewing location so that the content that is ultimately displayed via the multi-view display is viewable by viewer at the proper viewing location.
