A system that synchronizes waveforms received over a network from one or more devices, such as medical devices. Because of network delays or losses, waveforms can arrive at varying rates and times. Precise post-synchronization of the received data, to within a few milliseconds, is needed for accurate analysis. Applications include automatic classification of waveforms, such as detection of myocardial infraction from heart monitor waveforms. Synchronization uses sequence numbers assigned by each device, but must also account for sequence number wraparounds. Waveforms may also be synchronized across devices, by calculating the bias between within-device synchronized times and a common time source or common disturbance. Waveform data may also be stored data in a database or data warehouse; embodiments may index the data using a key with a date-time prefix and a hash code suffix, to support distributed indexing while reducing the chance of hash collisions to a very small probability.

A proposal generator generates a proposal or request for employment with content derived from a job seeker description such as a r&#xe9;sum&#xe9;. The proposal generator relies on a natural language processor for text recognition, named entity recognition, skills identification. The proposal generator uses a trained classifier to compare skill sets of a task description to skill sets of a job seeker. A proposal is generated if a sufficient quantity of comparison scores and relevancy scores are determined for a particular pair of task description and job seeker description. The proposal has a relatively high likelihood of passing through a screener and being reviewed by a human employment decision maker.

A method of pre-allocating resources for database provisioning in a private cloud may include determining characteristics of a plurality of databases in a customer's database system. The method may also include grouping the characteristics of the plurality of databases to generate a plurality of database templates that are descriptive of the plurality of databases. Apparatus, systems and methods are provided for the improved use of waste heat recovery systems which utilize the organic Rankine cycle (ORC) to generate mechanical and/or electric power from heat sources generating power from byproducts of water purification process(es). Waste heat energy obtained from heat source(s) is provided to one or more ORC system(s) which may be operatively coupled to electric generator(s). A heat coupling subsystem provides the requisite condensation of ORC working fluid by transferring heat from ORC working fluid to one or more other process(es) or system(s), such as anaerobic digester tank(s), to provide heat energy that enhances the production of fuel for the prime mover(s) without requiring the consumption of additional energy for that purpose.

Various computing devices, thermal solutions and enclosures are disclosed. In one aspect, a computing device enclosure is provided that includes a first compartment that has a first upper side and is adapted to house the computing device and a liquid cooling device. The computing device has at least one heat generating component operable to transfer heat to the liquid cooling device. A second compartment has a lower side that includes an air inlet and a second upper side that has an air outlet. The second compartment is adapted to house a head exchanger to remove hear transferred to the liquid cooling device. An exercisor is described comprising two cranks journaled from opposite directions into a pair of independently operating friction brakes within a central housing. However, while the friction brakes of each crank are independently operatable via a crank arm, they are interconnected by a common friction biasing mechanism. Such mechanism is also housed within the central housing between the friction brakes. The friction biasing mechanism includes a wedge block having slanted side surfaces in contact push blocks of the friction brakes. The wedge block is provided with transverse movement relative to the central housing by rotation of an activation rod (by the user), such rod having an axis of rotation that is normal to the axis of symmetry of the central housing. Such transverse movement, in turn, is converted to bi-directional travel of the push blocks toward the ends of the central housing where the cranks are positioned. As a result, there is generated within each friction brake a bi-directional pressure that resists rotation of the crank operatively attached to the friction brake in an uniform manner.

In accordance with the invention, an exerciser is described which comprises a simple structure comprised of elements which can be readily assembled while at the same time generate a large, distributed resistance load in which the user's limbs can be worked in both push-pull only, or push only movements. However, the friction brakes of each crank while independently operatable are interconnected by a common frictional biasing plates housed within a horizontally extending, central housing and having an activation rod that extends exterior. Since each friction brake also includes a series of stackable, laterally slidable, rotatable and stationary members, such squeezing pressure brings all vertical surfaces of these members into frictional contact with each other. Since the rotatable and stationary members are equally distributed over a finite length of the crank arm, the resistance loads to rotation are smooth over a full 360 degrees of rotation.
