A valve comprises a valve seat and a movable diaphragm. The valve seat defines a fluid orifice and is formed at least partially of polybenzimidazole. The diaphragm is sized and configured to bear against the fluid orifice to substantially block fluid flow through the orifice. The valve is advantageously used in a hot zone of a semiconductor processing system.

Valve with high temperature rating

The present invention comprises an external airbag system for mounting on a vehicle () that deploys into the region above the bumper () to prevent or mitigate injuries that would have otherwise been caused by a person striking the grill () or hood area () of the vehicle. The airbag () is stored in a housing () mounted within the front bumper () of the vehicle. The airbag () is deployed upwardly through an opening () in the upper surface of the bumper () into the region between the upper surface of the bumper () and the front surface of the grill () and hood (). The airbag () is generally T-shaped and includes a plurality of internal tethers () extending internally between the opposing inner surfaces () at regular intervals to cause the airbag () to be tufted. The internal tethers () reduce the volume of the airbag () for a given frontal area thereby decreasing the inflation time required, without resort to fabricating the airbag () from multiple independent chambers. Selected of the internal tethers () may be designed to break as the airbag reaches close to its full inflation pressure to allow a portion of the airbag to bulge outwardly after the air bag is fully deployed. The remaining tethers () are designed to break as the pressure increases when the airbag is collapsed in a collision.

Vehicle frontal airbag system

A multi-chambered bumper airbag for deployment from the bumper of a vehicle in the event of a collision with another vehicle is provided. The airbag comprises a main inflatable portion that, when inflated, absorbs the energy from contact with a structural member of the struck vehicle. The airbag also has one or more secondary inflatable portions concentric with the main inflatable portion. Because the secondary inflatable portions have a lower gas pressure than the main inflatable portion, they are used to cushion the occupant of the struck vehicle should the occupants' head and neck be forced out of the window of the struck vehicle.

Bumper airbag with multiple chambers

An airbag () for mounting in the bumper () of a motor vehicle () is provided. The airbag can have an up-side-down 'L' shape or a cylindrical shape. Further, multiple bags can be combined within one system. The airbag is configured to cover substantially the width of the vehicle upon deployment and also provide protection to the occupant of a struck vehicle () in the event the occupant is partially expelled from the struck vehicle in the direction of the bag. The airbag is combined with an inflation (), collision sensor () and an electronic control unit () to form the airbag system.

Bumper airbag and system

In order to provide a pre-assembled, relocatable building structure which can be transported by road from one site to another, a metal skeleton which is formed of 6.times.2 inch rectangular cross-section hollow steel tubing, is welded together and provided with horizontally extending anchor brackets at the bottom of each vertically extending column member. These anchor pads allow the building to be lowered onto foundations in which anchor bolts are imbedded, and bolted in place. The foundations are formed so as to take the form of continuous elongate blocks which break the passage of wind which tends to flow sideways under the housing structure. A shallow crawl space can formed between the foundation blocks to facilitate service connections. To prevent winds from tearing off side and roof panels of roof and wall structures secured to the skeleton, metal brackets are used to enclose or encapsulate the edges of the panels in a manner which prevents the direct contact with the wind.
