A method in an aircraft of using prognostic indicators for aircraft maintenance includes retrieving aircraft health data for a plurality of aircraft components wherein the aircraft health data includes at least one of mechanical systems condition indicator (CI) data, vibration spectrum data, resampled time-domain (RTD) data, and RTD spectrum data. The method includes estimating component health status information for the plurality of aircraft components using a plurality of prognostic modules wherein each prognostic module is configured to generate health status information for at least one of the aircraft components, the health status information includes at least one of a current health indicator and a prognostic indicator. The method also includes storing the component health status information for the aircraft components in a database onboard the aircraft, and causing the display of the health status information for the specific component on an aircraft display.

In an embodiment, a computing node includes a computing circuit, a comparing circuit, and an indicator circuit. The computing circuit is configured to receive each of at least one input-data message. The comparing circuit is configured to compare each of the at least one received input-data message to a list of input-data-message identifiers. And the indicator circuit is configured, for each of the at least one input-data message that corresponds to a respective input-data-message identifier, to generate a respective portion of a first status message, the respective portion indicating that the input-data message was received. For example, such computing node can determine the congruency of a received input-data message between coupled redundancy circuits with reduced processing overhead, reduced message delay, and reduced message latency as compared to existing computer nodes.

A cluster comprises a plurality of end nodes that communicate with one another over at least one communication channel. Each end node is assigned a time slot for transmission of frames; wherein each node comprises a local guardian configured to prevent transmission of timing-related frames sourced from the respective end node. The cluster also comprises a special node that communicates with the plurality of end nodes, wherein the special node establishes a time base and sources timing-related frames to the plurality of end nodes. The transmission schedule includes at least one common scrubbing time slot during which each of the plurality of end nodes is configured to generate a timing-related frame. The special node is configured to determine if the local guardian in any of the plurality of nodes failed to prevent transmission of the respective generated timing-related frame during the common scrubbing time slot.

Methods and systems are provided for detecting temporal relationships that are uniquely associated with a selected root cause. The method comprises identifying error codes associated with a root cause, wherein each error code comprises a plurality of event indicators and temporal data describing when the event indicator was generated, analyzing each of the error codes to detect a combination of event indicators that is associated with error codes corresponding to the selected root cause and to a non-selected root cause, and detecting a temporal relationship involving the combination of event indicators, wherein the temporal relationship is uniquely associated with error codes corresponding to the selected root cause.
