Systems, methods, and apparatus for an integrated standardized metrology system (ISMetS) are disclosed. A disclosed metrology system comprises at least one processor to receive an XML metrology file that comprises at least one metrology action for a metrology instrument to measure at least one object, to translate the XML metrology file into a human machine interface (HMI) metrology file, to generate a graphical user interface (GUI) based on the HMI metrology file, to generate a HMI metrology command file according to a command from a user via the GUI, to translate the HMI metrology command file into a metrology instrument software command file, and to translate the metrology instrument software command file into a metrology instrument command file. The system further comprises the metrology instrument to measure at least one object, according to the metrology instrument command file, to obtain measurements for at least one object.

Integrated standardized metrology system (ISMetS)

In one illustrative example, an apparatus may comprise a number of robotic vehicles and a number of monuments associated with the number of robotic vehicles. Robotic-mounted monument system for metrology systems

A non-contact biometric sensing device is described. The device includes a processing device, a user interface communicatively coupled to the processing device, a display communicatively coupled to the processing device, a laser doppler vibrometer sensor communicatively coupled to the processing device, and an infrared camera communicatively coupled to the processing device. The processing device is programmed to utilize mechanical motion data received from the laser doppler vibrometer sensor and thermal distributions data from the infrared camera to calculate biometric data, when signals originating from the laser doppler vibrometer sensor and the infrared camera are reflected back towards the device from a target.

Systems and methods for non-contact biometric sensing

The invention performs coordinate measurement employing multiple-frequency intensity-modulated laser radar. A laser diode source is intensity modulated by variation of its excitation current. Its output beam is directed to a target using scanning mirrors or other opto-mechanical means, and the light returned from the target is detected. The modulation frequency is alternated between two or more values, creating a dataset of several relative phase measurements that uniquely determine the distance to the target without ambiguity. A device for carrying out such a method includes a laser whose output is modulated by a high frequency signal generator, optics for directing the output signal to the target to a detector, a signal generator which generates reference signals offset in frequency from the intensity modulation frequencies by a predetermined amount; mixers for combining the return signals with the reference signals to form a first set of intermediate frequency signals, and for combining the modulation signals with the reference signals to form a second set of intermediate frequency signals, and a computer which calculates phase differences between the output beam and the return signals for each modulation frequency from the intermediate frequencies, and determines the distance to the target from the phase differences.
