Devices and methods for assisting blood flow are provided. The device includes a housing with an inlet and an outlet, and a fluid barrier separating the housing into a first section containing the inlet and outlet, and a second section. The device also includes an impeller shaft coupled to an impeller and a first magnet in the first section of the housing, and a drive shaft coupled to a second magnet in the second section of the housing. The first and second magnets are arranged such that rotation of the drive shaft rotates the second magnet causing rotation of the first magnet, which drives the impeller.

Example ultrasound medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device includes a support member having a proximal end region and a distal end region and a sensing member having a proximal end region and a distal end region, the distal end region of the sensing member coupled to the distal end region of the support member. The medical device also includes one or more ultrasound sensors disposed along the sensing member and a support shaft having a first end coupled to the sensing member and a second end coupled to the support member. Additionally, the sensing member is configured to shift from a first configuration in which the sensing member is adjacent to the support member to a second configuration in which at least a portion of the sensing member extends away from the support member.

Embodiments in the present disclosure relate to an anchoring and centering device for a circulatory support pump. An exemplary apparatus comprises an expandable anchoring device extending along a longitudinal axis, wherein the expandable anchoring device is arranged about a central axis. A distal portion of the expandable anchoring device defines an annulus through which the cardiac pump can be arranged and to which the cardiac pump can be releasable coupled. A proximal portion of the expandable anchoring device is configured to circumferentially expand to an unconstrained configuration that has a cross-sectional diameter greater than a diameter of the annulus. The exemplary apparatus also includes a constraining member arranged over the expandable anchoring device to constrain the expandable anchoring device in a constrained configuration for delivery of the anchoring apparatus.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a circulatory support device with an integrated cannula. In an exemplary embodiment, an apparatus for attachment to a cardiac pump, comprises an adaptor. The adaptor comprises an annular cross section configured to receive the cardiac pump. The annular cross section is secured to the cardiac pump. The adaptor also comprises a plurality of channels arranged around the adapter and a cannula comprising a proximal portion, a distal portion, and an intermediate portion comprising a braided mesh extending between the distal portion and the proximal portion. The proximal portion has a proximal end comprising a plurality of elements arranged through the channels and the distal portion comprises a plurality of wires and a tip element. The plurality of wires extend in a distal direction from the braided mesh to the tip element and are secured to the tip element. And, a coating covers at least a portion of the braided mesh.

Each of the plurality of curved intersections defines a crescent shaped opening therethrough. The stent has a manufactured state, a crimped state and an expanded state. The crescent shaped openings each have a width and a length such that in the crimped state the width of the crescent shaped opening is less than the width of the crescent shaped opening in the manufactured state or the expanded state.

Catheter and methods for designing, making, and using catheters are disclosed. An example catheter is a balloon catheter. The balloon catheter may include a proximal shaft. The proximal shaft may be a bare metal hypotube having a skew value of &#x2212;1.0 to &#x2212;2.5. A midshaft may be attached to the proximal shaft. A distal shaft may be attached to the midshaft. A balloon may be coupled to the distal shaft. An inflation lumen may be defined that extends from the proximal shaft, through the midshaft, and into the distal shaft. The inflation lumen may be in fluid communication with the balloon.

The stent may comprise a first section, having a braided first stent architecture with a first flexibility and a first radial force, and a second section, having a non-braided second stent architecture with a second flexibility less than the first flexibility and a second radial force greater than the first radial force, in which at least one continuous filament is integral to both the first and second sections.
