The present invention relates to a cutting apparatus which includes a cutter. A pair of sensors is used to detect a lead edge of an image located on a receiver sheet. In response to the sensors the cutter and the lead edge of the image are aligned. The receiving sheet is transported in a direction essentially perpendicular to the cutter. The cutter cuts the receiving sheet adjacent and parallel to the lead and trail edges of the image. A cut lead edge of the receiving sheet is edge registered. A third sensor detects edges of the image perpendicular to the cut lead edge of the image. A second cutter, responsive to the third sensor, cuts the receiving sheet adjacent edges of the image perpendicular to the cut lead edge of the image.

Cutting apparatus for cutting an image from a receiving sheet

A tray for use with a mechanism for feeding fan fold paper along a predetermined travel path. The tray comprises an upstanding wall member and a floor member located in juxtaposition with the upstanding wall member. The floor member has a first portion forming an acute included angle with the upstanding wall member, and a second portion connected to the first portion opposite the upstanding wall member and intersecting the first portion at an obtuse angle.

Restacking tray for fan fold paper feeder

A supply hopper for holding a stack of fanfold paper and guiding such fanfold paper for reliable feeding as it is withdrawn from the supply hopper. The supply hopper comprises a tray for supporting a stack of fanfold paper, the tray including a base member oriented at an angle in the range of between 25.degree.-45.degree. from the horizontal. A stop member is connected to the base member along the lower marginal edge thereof, the stop member and the base member forming an included angle of substantially 90.degree.. Further, a guide member is supported by the tray substantially above a fanfold paper stack supported on the tray at a height sufficient to lift the topmost individual panel of the stack at least partially off the stack when the fanfold paper is threaded over the guide member. A bail assembly is connected to the tray extending away from the base member of the tray on the opposite side of the stop member from the base member. As such, the bail assembly acts as a damper on fanfold paper being withdrawn from the stack of fanfold paper passing from such stack supported on the tray over the guide member and below the bail assembly.

Supply hopper for fanfold paper stacks

An articulating paper sensor for sensing the presence of continuous paper in a tractor drive assembly for transporting continuous paper along a travel path. The articulating paper sensor comprises a body having a portion including a sensing element for detecting continuous paper and producing a signal in response to such detection. The body is pivotably attached to the tractor drive assembly. When the tractor drive assembly is positioned to have continuous paper loaded therein, the body is moved to a remote location relative to the continuous paper travel path; and when the tractor drive assembly is positioned to transport continuous paper along the travel path, the body is moved to a location relative to the travel path such that the sensing element detects the presence of continuous paper in the travel path.

Articulating paper sensor

In a rotating cleaning brush apparatus of an electrographic copier having a housing defining a chamber which partially encloses the cleaning brush, a plurality of airflow dividers are disposed within the chamber. These dividers form channels extending from a position adjacent to the rotating brush into an outlet port of the chamber. The outlet port is coupled to a source of vacuum. Airflow is established across the length of the brush and entrains toner and carries it into the channels at sufficient velocity to transport toner from the chamber.
