A riser () of an archery bow () has plurality of holes () at least partially through the riser for use in attaching a sight mount () to the bow. The fork in the limb of a compound archery bow is reinforced with a collar having a flange for stiffening the collar and fitting within the fork. The flange is glued to the inside of the fork to strengthen the joint between the rest of the collar and the fork. A hole in a limb is reinforced with a cylindrical flange having an annular disk extending over a major surface of the limb. Both the cylindrical flange and the disk are glued to the limb.

Manufacturing a handle for an archery bow is simplified by extruding a strip having the side to side cross-sectional shape of the handle, cutting the strip into blanks, and machining each blank according to the front to rear outline desired for each handle. Many differently shaped handles can be made from the same shape blanks.

In an archery bow having a central riser and a separate grip, the grip is made adjustable from side to side by making the width of the channel down the back of the grip greater than the thickness of the riser. The grip is adjusted from side to side by spacers or shims located between one side of the riser and the grip or by adjusting screws on opposite sides of the grip. Since the hand of the archer extends around both the grip and the riser, as the grip is moved to the side, the effect is a rotation of the archer's hold on the bow without actually rotating the grip.

In an archery bow having a central riser and a separate grip, the grip is made adjustable from side to side by making the width of the channel down the back of the grip greater than the thickness of the riser. Spacers or shims are located between one side of the riser and the grip for adjusting the grip from side to side only. Since the hand of the archer extends around both the grip and the riser, as the grip is moved to the side, the effect is a rotation of the archer's hold on the bow without actually rotating the grip.

A method of stringing a compound archery bow. A preswedged off-end of a first cable is mounted to a mount on a first pulley. The first cable is then extended to a second pulley, wrapped in a grooved section of a central circumferential surface of the second pulley, strung in a slot on one sidewall of the second pulley, and passed through a central aperture of the second pulley until a mount chip is directly adjacent a stepped section of another slot on the other sidewall of the second pulley. The cable is then strung into a slot on the other side and the mount chip is inserted into the stepped section. The remaining length of the cable is wrapped in another grooved section of the central circumferential surface of the second pulley and the end of the first cable is then attached to the bow string. A second cable is then strung by following the steps of the method for stringing the first cable in reverse order.

There is disclosed speed brackets for use on a compound bow which is formed by a pair of limbs mounted at the interior ends thereof to a handle section, comprising a pair of mount brackets carried on the bow handle section adjacent the opposed ends thereof and extending laterally inwardly in the direction of the intermediate stretch of the bow string, the inward ends of each of the mount brackets contacting the bow string thereby to form a tensioning point for the bow string at a point spaced from each of the limbs and positioned between the limbs and the intermediate stretch of the bow string.

An improved compound archery bow is disclosed which is formed by a pair of opposed limbs joined to a centrally positioned handle section. A pair of pulleys are mounted by brackets extending inwardly from the ends of the limbs, each of the pulleys being pivotally mounted on the brackets through an eccentric axis of the pulley. A cable system for holding the bow string in a tensioned condition is passed through the two opposed pulleys, and the two ends anchored in a pair of extensions of the eccentric axis of the pulley.
